Lemongrass, the fragrant wake-up call! Its invigorating and vibrant scent helps combat fatigue and mental fog. Whether we're facing long hours at work or school, Lemongrass comes to the rescue when our focus and attention start to wane.

Lemongrass oil has a good antiseptic properties and can be used in cleaning blends. Some research indicates that Lemongrass has strong antibacterial and antifungal actions. For the musculoskeletal system, Lemongrass oil can be added to post workout massage blends to help manage acute injury and bruising. A tonic to blood vessels, Lemongrass is recommended for varicose veins, fluid retention and oedema. Traditionally, Lemongrass has been used to treat intestinal infection and its warming action is helpful for poor digestion.

Recognized as a general tonic for the skin, Lemongrass can help reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and is suitable for oily skin types. It can be included in deodorant blends or directly applied to freshen up shoes. Additionally, this oil can be used in insect repellent mixtures.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗼 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗢𝗶𝗹

▪️ 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿: Add 4-6 drops of Lemongrass oil to a diffuser.

▪️ 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗶𝘅: A few deep inhalations from the bottle can help when you are at work, in the car or anytime you need a quick break.

▪️ 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱/𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗵: Add 2 drops to a bowl of water to treat nail infections.

▪️ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: To a bowl of water, add 2 drops of Lemongrass Oil. Dip a face towel in the water, wring out any excess moisture, and place it on the affected area. Repeat the process two or three times as the compress cools or warms up. Cool compresses are recommended for application to sore muscles and joints after exercise.

▪️ 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: For face, add 2 drops of Lemongrass oil to a bowl of steaming hot water. Lean over bowl and cover back of head with a small towel to trap aromatherapy vapours. Take slow deep breaths. Caution: Due to risk of burns or scalding, keep eyes covered during treatment.

▪️ 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲: Apply Lemongrass oil onto the skin and massage the affected area using gentle, circular motions. Start with a small amount of oil and apply more as needed.

Note: Lemongrass is considered a generally safe essential oil, although may cause skin irritation for some. A patch test is recommended for those with sensitive skin. Not to be used in the bath.
