Coco Peat is a natural fibre made out of coconut husk and is an alternative to traditional peat moss. Its air-filled porosity and high water holding capacity makes it ideal as a base for potting mixes. Coco Peat is very absorbent, adding water retention properties to potting mixes. Do not use coco peat by itself as potting medium, as the water retention properties might drown off plant roots.
