TIPS
Placement of reed diffusers
#1 Humidity and room temperature
Place your reed diffuser in a room with sufficient humidity and moderate temperature.
Why?
Suppose your room temperature is relatively low and the air is dry. In that case, it will create slow-moving scent molecules, which cannot travel very far and at the same time, dry air will increase the speed of oil evaporation. This also means that even though your diffuser is diffusing more, the scent molecules cannot travel far enough to cover your room with the fragrance, especially if it is a large space.
#2 Good air circulation but not too much
Place your reed diffuser in constant foot traffic that moves the molecules in the air naturally to carry the scent around and not directly under the fan or aircon; anywhere with the direct wind blowing at it.
Why?
Any fast-moving and robust air can cause oil evaporation to happen more quickly and unnecessarily.
How to make your reed diffuser last longer!
#1 Good quality reeds
Fibre reeds are designed specifically for the purpose of oil wicking and scent dispersal. Its porosity distribution is uniform, ensuring optimal oil distribution throughout the reed. These reeds soak up and diffuse scent stronger.
DO NOT use bamboo or rattan reeds!
Bamboo nodes stop oil from spreading and rattan reeds is not as efficient as fibre in absorption.
#2 High-quality oil
Oils with too many synthetic fillers can clog the reeds, causing them to stop diffusing the scent. Poorly mixed oils may allow for a heavy smell at first and evaporate too fast that it consumes oils too quickly.
#3 Remove reeds when not in use
Simply put them on a tray! Remember to close the bottle's cap and cover the reeds with some cloth to prevent dust, hair, or dirt particles from the room.
The intensity of the fragrance
#1 Flip the reeds
If the scent is not as strong as it was, flip the reeds for a fresh fragrance burst. You can also do it once in 2-3 weeks.
#2 More reeds
Increase the number of reeds in the diffuser for a more intense scent. ** However to note that more reeds also means faster evaporation! Just use what you need :)
#3 It may be time for new sets of reeds
Reeds may get clogged up with dust over time. You may replace the reeds when flipping reeds does not work anymore, if not once every 2 months. You may also purchase reeds from us if reeds are ineffective after 2 months.
