Here\u2019s a list of 15 insanely weird records that will make you super-amused and super-proud.<\/em><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h2>Largest Curry<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12895\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12895\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12895\" src=\"https:\/\/shopee.sg\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/record3-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Largest Curry\" width=\"500\" height=\"331\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12895\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Steward&#8217;s Solution)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Yep, Singapore &#8211; well-known for our food &#8211; is also the holder of the largest curry recorded. It weighed 15.34 tonnes and was achieved by the Indian Chefs and Culinary Association (Singapore). This must have been the most calorie-inducing and delicious record made ever. And we are actually wondering, what did they do with the leftover curry?<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Indian Chefs and Culinary Association<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 1 August 2015<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Longest Satay<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12896\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12896\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12896\" src=\"https:\/\/shopee.sg\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/record4-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"Longest Satay\" width=\"500\" height=\"250\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12896\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Singapore Book of Records)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Of course, in order to live up to our title as the food paradise, we have to be the record holder of the Longest Satay too. The record was set in 2007 and it measured 140.02m. And by the way, to give you some context, that\u2019s actually 16 times the height of our very own Merlion. This (literally) tower of meat was made with 150kg of chicken and 150 staff grilled it over a charcoal (camp)fire.<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Kopitiam Group of Companies<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 21 July 2007<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Most people applying false eyelashes<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 290px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/PBRT37nt63i3m\/giphy.gif\" alt=\"False Eyelash\" width=\"290\" height=\"247\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">(giphy)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>A really weird, but quite an <em>eye-opening<\/em> experience was set right here on our sunny island too. 324 people gathered together at The Ground Theatre @ SCAPE and started applying false eyelashes together. Ltd<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 20 September 2014<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Largest collection of tortoise and turtle items<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 245px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/HsGvB8tdhVVC0\/giphy.gif\" alt=\"Tortoise\" width=\"245\" height=\"119\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">(giphy)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Don\u2019t we all love these cute shelled animals? Well, a particular Singaporean is showing his love by having the largest collection of them. He has a total of 3456 (<em>how auspicious as well<\/em>) tortoises and turtles in this collection, including 1000 live specimens. Want to see them? They are all housed in The Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum, which has already been in operation since 2002.<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Danny Tan<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 16 June 2005<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Most people participating in a Lo Hei prosperity toss simultaneously at a single venue<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12897\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12897\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12897\" src=\"https:\/\/shopee.sg\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/record2-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"Lo Hei\" width=\"500\" height=\"250\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12897\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Singapore Book of Records)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Singapore also had to have a say in setting the most number of people participating in the traditional Lo Hei salad toss. 430 people gathered at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, to set this record. We actually do wonder what was the aftermath of this toss, given that a simple 4 person toss can already result in carrots shreds in our hair.<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Dimension Data<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 19 February 2016<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Largest reunion of people born at the same hospital<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12898\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12898\" style=\"width: 333px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12898\" src=\"https:\/\/shopee.sg\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/record1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Largest Reunion Of People\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12898\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Guinness World Records)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>So apparently, our very own KK Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s Hospital (KKH) broke this record with 2241 people aged from 7 to 85 years old at Bishan Stadium. With 8237 chairs to remove, the game lasted for a total of three and a half hours!<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Anglo-Chinese School<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 5 August 1989<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Most number of simultaneous Scrabble games<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 480px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/l2JejeFAnbX7Ixrag\/giphy.gif\" alt=\"Scrabble\" width=\"480\" height=\"362\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">(giphy)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Singapore also holds the record for the most number of simultaneous Scrabble games. 1042 participants were involved in this effort and 521 games were played at the same time. We also tried to find some data about how long the games lasted, but nothing popped up. Could this be Singapore\u2019s very own version of <em>Storybrooke<\/em>?<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Tanglin Trust School<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 7 March 2014<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Largest sculpture of plastic bags<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12901\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12901\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12901\" src=\"https:\/\/shopee.sg\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/record7-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Largest Sculpture\" width=\"500\" height=\"331\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12901\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Singapore Book of Records)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Our sunny island has also made it into the books with the largest sculpture of plastic bags. 68000 plastic bags were used to form the sculpture, which was formed in the shape of an octopus by over 200 student volunteers.<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Ci Yuan Community Centre<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 21 April 2012<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Largest sculpture made from recycled materials<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12902\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12902\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12902\" src=\"https:\/\/shopee.sg\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/record8-300x219.jpg\" alt=\"Largest Sculpture Built From Recycled Materials\" width=\"500\" height=\"366\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12902\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Singapore Book of Records)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Besides holding the record for the largest sculpture of plastic bags, Singapore is also the record holder of the largest sculpture made from recycled materials! It measured 40.51m in length, 29.14m in width and 8.80m in height. To give you some context, that&#8217;s almost as tall as a three-storey flat, and nearly the length of an Olympic-sized swimming pool!<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Tetra Pak South East Asia Pte Ltd<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 14 April 2014<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Largest game of pass the parcel<\/h2>\n<h2>Well, Singapore also holds the title for the largest game of pass the parcel. A grand total of 3918 students were involved in this traditional game and they removed 2200 wrappers in two hours and thirty minutes! Just wow.<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Nanyang Technological University<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 28 February 1998<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Longest chain of paper hearts<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12903\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12903\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12903\" src=\"https:\/\/shopee.sg\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/record9-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Longest Heart\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12903\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Guinness World Records)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>This brings back good Secondary School memories! Writing notes on origami paper (or a scrap paper from your school notebook), and then folding it into a paper heart and passing it (<em>or not so secretly<\/em>) to your (<em>not so secret<\/em>) crush. You will be happy to know that Singapore has also made it into the books for holding the record of the longest chain of paper hearts. It was made up of 8525 paper hearts and measured 951.18m in length!<\/h2>\n<h2><em>Who: Jamiyah Singapore<\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em>When: 14 May 2017<\/em><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Largest ant farm<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12905\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12905\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12905\" src=\"https:\/\/shopee.sg\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/record10-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"Largest Ant Farm\" width=\"500\" height=\"250\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12905\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Singapore Book of Records)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>This gives us the creeps but we are on the books for the largest ant farm! It is 1.2m in height, 0.9m in width and 0.08m in depth. Fun fact! This creepy crawly structure was actually used as a promotion for Colgate Anti Cavity Toothpaste.
