Did you know that the Mid-Autumn Festival, or more commonly known as the Mooncake Festival, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month every year? And this year, it\u2019ll be happening on 24 September. <\/span>\nIn Singapore, this festival is usually celebrated by feasting over a variety of interesting mooncake flavours and admiring the full moon with family and friends. Traditionally, people will also take this opportunity to \u63d0\u706f\u7b3c, which directly translates to carrying lanterns. Most places will also be going all out to impress Singaporeans with an array of cute and pretty lanterns. So, if you\u2019re all about taking #OOTD shots, here are some places you can visit during this season to up your Instagram-game:<\/span>\n\n\n

At a height of 10.8m and a width spanning 70m across, this huge instalment sits over the Dragonfly Lake and illustrates the story of a carp transforming into a mighty dragon. With the iconic Super Trees as a backdrop, this is one of the many photo-ops you can get around the park. Of course, besides all the history and stories, they have also prepared lantern installations for your #OOTD shots. And this year, the hall decided to focus on featuring lanterns across the different Southeast Asian nations to celebrate Singapore\u2019s chairmanship of ASEAN in 2018. Every year, the theatres organise a festival that caters to both the young and old to learn more about this old tradition through fun activities and performances. As part of the festivities, a huge lantern walkabout along the Esplanade waterfront will also be held. With street shows, craft activities, street bazaars and carnivals lined up, there certainly will be something for everyone. On top of all these, the streets of Chinatown and the area near Chinatown Heritage Centre will be decorated with beautiful traditional lanterns and huge installations depicting life in Singapore during the 50s and 60s. It also helps that the decor and shops that line up the streets are already excellent backdrops for your photo-ops. As part of the celebrations, you can also join in the Mass Lantern Walk activity that will be happening on 23 Sep. P.S.
