Additionally, don\u2019t miss out on the light show to see the buildings beautifully illuminated, which takes place daily at 9pm. I\u2019d like to stop you there \u2013 KL Bird Park is the largest free-flight walk-in aviary in the world, so that means that you\u2019ll be able to observe how the natural rainforest habitats of these birds are replicated here.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike in Singapore, you\u2019ll see the African Violet Turaco and the Channel-billed Toucan, which both boast beautiful plumage and vibrant feathers. Even though this bird park is just a quick drive from the city centre of KL, make sure to plan your time well. After all, you won\u2019t want to miss the spectacular bird show that\u2019s held at 12.30pm and 3.30pm daily, as it\u2019s one of the most highly anticipated KL attractions!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Photography enthusiasts will enjoy the Canopy Walk across a steel aerial bridge that\u2019s suspended 21 metres above ground, creating a unique vantage point that\u2019s great for photos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hikers will also be delighted by the range of hiking trails. They vary in difficulty, so they\u2019re great for all! Beginners can go for the Merbau trail, which is easier and experienced hikers can go for the Jelutong trail for steeper inclines and rugged terrains. It\u2019s a great time to visit Chinatown if you haven\u2019t been there in a while, as a section of Chinatown underwent much-needed restoration efforts just last year. Check out the Petaling Street Market for souvenirs and quality replicas of designer bags and shoes at a fraction of their original prices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After shopping, you\u2019re bound to be hungry. Grab a bite from one of the street-food vendors or head to a nearby eatery to fuel up on fragrant Nasi Lemak and Goreng Pisang, or other types of culinary delights. If you\u2019re planning on visiting Kwai Chai Hong, you\u2019ll be pleasantly surprised by the interactive murals. They\u2019re embedded with QR codes for you to scan to learn more about the olden-day ways of residents, which I found interesting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another one of the top things to do in KL includes a trip to Brickfields, KL\u2019s version of Little India. Regardless of what you\u2019re looking for, chances are that you\u2019ll find it here. The stores here sell pretty much everything from <\/span>Indian clothing<\/span><\/a> to <\/span>jewellery<\/span><\/a> and other goods, and the street is decorated with brightly-coloured decorations. You also can\u2019t miss out on any of the authentic Indian Food like Banana Leaf Rice from Saravanaa Bhavan Restaurant!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That said, the Thean Hou Temple is a popular Taoist attraction in this area that many visit to seek blessings from the revered deity. You\u2019ll also be able to enjoy the scenic views atop Robson Hill. As one of the pioneer settlements in KL, you\u2019ll be amazed at the number and variety of colonial structures found scattered around this area.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, you\u2019ll be able to view pieces across various media, including textile, woodwork and ceramics. Unlike other museums that prioritise works from a select region, the Islamic Arts Museum prides itself on its attempts to curate a collection that\u2019s truly representative of Islamic culture. Once you\u2019ve shopped till you\u2019ve dropped, treat yourself to a massage by a skilful masseuse at Manjakaki to relieve the tension in your muscles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re under the impression (like I once was) that Central Market is targeted at older age groups, think again! This area regularly hosts events that sell curated vintage clothing and artisan accessories, so there\u2019s a fair bit of youthful energy here too. For comparison, these events remind me of those held at <\/span>Haji Lane<\/span><\/a>. If that\u2019s what you enjoy, you\u2019ll find shopping at Central Market one of the most satisfying things to do in KL, especially if you\u2019re able to get your hands on some good loot!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Although you may face long queues, my top pick has to be the Signature Roast Chicken Wings from Wong Ah Warh that have been carefully marinated and roasted to perfection for a juicy, tender finish. I\u2019ve heard that the Ngau Kee Beef Noodles are also great for a hearty meal! But no meal is complete without dessert. So, top it all off with a <\/span>durian dessert<\/span><\/a> and leave satisfied. Take it from me \u2013 if you\u2019re a foodie, this is one of the must-visit attractions in KL.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can expect the typical brands here, so it\u2019s the services that draw people in. If you\u2019re in KL with a large group of friends, visit Breakout for an exhilarating escape room experience, or pop by Manekineko Karaoke to sing your hearts out. After, head to the ground floor to refuel with the many food and beverage options.<\/span><\/p>\n

Safety is taken very seriously here, so children need to be at least 7 years of age to race on their own. Otherwise, you can opt for the tag-along option to have your little one ride tandem with you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
