“Conceal, don’t feel” has never been more real when it comes to the best concealers for your dark circles and acne scars. We Asians tend to have problems covering up our dark eye circles and evening out our skin tone – no thanks to hyperpigmentation. Even with a good foundation, those blemishes might still be visible and cause your entire look to fall short of perfect. Lucky for you, our team tried out some of the most popular concealers for Asian skin to find out which one gives you ideal coverage! Check out our full review of the best concealers for Asian skin below:
Note: Our team is mostly light-skinned, so our recommendations might be more suited for folks with similar skin tones. Everyone’s skin is unique, so you might have a different experience from ours!

Everyone’s skin is different, which makes it hard to choose the best shade of concealer. The best concealers for Asian skin should have a wide range of shades to match our diverse skin tones. It also helps to check your undertone to find the right shade that suits you. Here’s what you should consider when shopping for concealers:
The first thing to check when shopping for concealers is your undertone. Your skin undertone is this subtle hue that’s right underneath the surface of your skin. This will determine whether you have a warm, cool, or neutral undertone, so you can find the right shade of concealer to match. The easiest way to know your skin undertone is to look at the veins on your wrist. If you have:
Greenish veins: Warm undertone; choose concealers with a gold or yellow shade.
Blue or violet veins: Cool undertone; choose concealers with a pink or blue shade.
Both green and blue veins: Neutral undertone; choose concealers with yellow or blue shades.
Skin tones vary from person to person. The best way to find out your skin tone is to look at your jawline. This is where you’ll need to blend any of your facial cosmetic products to match your neck for a natural finish. From here, you’ll be able to determine if your skin tone falls under the light, medium or dark category.
While your foundation should match your skin tone, this is not the case for your concealer. The best concealer for Asian skin is one that’s lighter than your foundation. However, it should only be one to two shades lighter or it’ll start to look too obvious. A lighter concealer will help to cancel out any discolouration on your face.
Pro Tip: Mix in some of your foundation if your concealer is too light.
First up is the hince Second Skin Cover Concealer. My colleague was really excited to try this since it’s named one of the best Korean concealers in the market (it even has a cult following). Her first impressions? She absolutely loved the packaging – the frosted glass look of the concealer tube and its minimalist foil logo felt super classy!
According to her, the concealer was creamy and smooth, and really easy to blend out with a makeup sponge. She remarked that the moisturising formula kept true to its word – her skin felt hydrated all day and she didn’t have any patchy spots at all. She applied the concealer before heading to work, and it stayed put the whole day without smudging or fading.
That aside, I wasn’t able to test the hince concealer mainly due to its rather limited shade range; which is, to me, the only concern about this concealer. And that’s despite the colour chart they provide for easier shade-matching. But at least there’s only all to gain for my fellow girlie!
Overall rating: 4.8/5 stars
Criteria | Score | Our opinion |
Coverage | 5 | Completely covered small blemishes and evened out my skin tone |
Longwear | 5 | Incredibly long-lasting; applied concealer in the morning, and I still looked fresh by the end of the day |
Waterproof | 5 | Completely waterproof and resistant to sweat and oils |
Finish | 5 | Matte finish, but it doesn’t look or feel dry at all with its moisturising formula; did not make me oily either |
Shade range | 4 | Limited shades with just five |
Value for money | 4 | Fairly affordable but good concealer at just $17.44 |
I’ve tried other products from The SAEM before, but this is my first time using their concealer. The SAEM Cover Perfection Tip Concealer was by far the most affordable one we reviewed, but don’t let its price fool you! It’s still one of the best concealers for Asian skin as it doesn’t cake or oil up halfway through your day despite its thick consistency.
I applied the SAEM concealer under my eyes to even out my eyebags, and on my chin where I have a few pimple marks. While the formula is thicker than some of the lightweight options I’m used to, it blended more seamlessly than I expected. And cakiness? That’s unheard of here. But a little goes a long way, so be sure to apply sparingly, especially around the delicate under-eye area.
Throughout the day, my concealer did not budge or clump– no creases at all, which was a huge plus! But, if you have dry skin like me, I recommend prepping your skin with a moisturising base and primer before applying just a few dots of the concealer as it did make my skin feel a little dry by mid-afternoon.
Overall rating: 4.7/5 stars
Criteria | Score | Our opinion |
Coverage | 5 | Thick formula fully covered my acne marks and evened out the bags under my eyes |
Longwear | 4.5 | Lasts around 8 hours, but I needed to set it with a powder |
Waterproof | 5 | Very waterproof and sweat-resistant |
Finish | 4 | I felt a bit dry after a few hours, but the matte finish did not flake, so my skin still looked naturally smooth. |
Shade Range | 5 | Good shade range that includes colour-correcting options |
Value for Money | 5 | Very affordable but good concealer for under $10! |
My other friend tested out the Calypso Magic Concealer after reading raving reviews of it online. Most say it provides natural coverage and had a moisturising effect, so my friend decided to put it to the test! She applied it under her eyes as she normally does with other concealers, and blended it out with a beauty blender. She then used a setting powder to finish off her makeup routine.
Her first comment was on the oh-so-creamy consistency that had a texture like whipped butter. She was also impressed by its pearlescent finish, which gave her a natural, dewy glow. The Calypso concealer gave her good and even coverage, evening out dark spots and fading away any red marks from pimple scars. However, we could only find three shades of this concealer, and I wasn’t able to find a shade match for this one either, so I skipped testing out this concealer.
Overall rating: 4.5/5 stars
Criteria | Score | Our opinion |
Coverage | 4.5 | Great for evening out skin tone in dark or reddish areas |
Longwear | 4 | Lasts the whole day without caking or creasing, but I applied moisturiser and primer beforehand |
Waterproof | 5 | Stayed on the whole day, so it’s fairly water and sweat resistant |
Finish | 5 | Semi-matte finish that gave me a natural-looking glow without using highlighters |
Shade Range | 3 | Limited shade range with just three options |
Value for Money | 4 | Slightly more expensive than the other drugstore brands at $28.12, but worth the quality and coverage |
I’ve heard a lot about the LUNA Long Lasting Concealer around AB (Asian Beauty) threads, most of them glowing reviews of how it complements their skin. This Korean concealer has a lightweight formula that is made to act like a second skin, and it’s supposedly so light, you’ll forget it’s there! What I like most about the LUNA Long Lasting Tip Concealer, though, is its breathable formula that’s suitable for everyday use.
Based on reviews of the product, the LUNA concealer has a light consistency that doesn’t block the pores, and locks in moisture by creating a thin, film-like barrier on the skin. It’s also super hydrating since its formula features vitamin E, chamomile extracts and Portulaca oleracea extracts that are known for their moisturising and healing properties.
However, the LUNA Long Lasting Tip Concealer cannot fully cover dark spots and acne scars. It seems that its lightweight formula makes it a bit sheer, which is ideal for everyday application, but not when you’re trying to cover up a scar or mark.
Overall rating: 4.6/5 stars
Criteria | Score | Opinions on the LUNA Long Lasting Tip Concealer |
Coverage | 4 | Even but sheer coverage that’s better for the under-eye area than for dark marks |
Longwear | 5 | Ultra-long lasting; Stays on for about 12 hours! |
Waterproof | 5 | Resistant to moisture, sweat, and oil |
Finish | 4 | Sheer finish that makes you look dewy |
Shade Range | 4.5 | Good shade range that includes a pink concealer for a brightening effect |
Value for Money | 5 | Fair price at a little over $11 |
Canmake is another makeup brand I’m a huge fan of! While I usually stock up on their Creamy Touch Liners (I highly recommend Foggy Plum), their Color Mixing Concealer has also become my new go-to. I was sold when my friends showed me how this concealer comes in a palette with a mix space. You can easily customise shades to your preference, which means you’ll have to do some colour theory to get it right.
But if you think that isn’t enough, hold that thought. There are four options to the Canmake Color Mixing Concealer; this equates to 12 shades in total. So you’ll defo be able to find your perfect match! And while one palette seems adequate, I’d recommend getting at least the Pink & Light palette for some colour correcting. It features a pink shade to help fend off eyebags and that way, you’ll have coverage guaranteed!
Overall rating: 4.4/5 stars
Criteria | Score | Our opinions |
Coverage | 3.5 | Medium but buildable coverage; won’t completely cover dark spots, depending on palette option |
Longwear | 4 | Stays on for about 6 hours before you need to reapply |
Waterproof | 4.5 | Water-resistant and sweat-resistant with minimal smudging |
Finish | 5 | Dewy finish that gives skin a natural-looking smoothness |
Shade Range | 5 | Wide shade range with blendable colours |
Value for Money | 5 | Affordable but good concealer palette, considering its versatility |
The best concealer for acne is one that can also hide all traces of it on your skin. The Peripera Double Longwear Cover Concealer has been formulated to do just that and you don’t even need to use a lot of the product for full coverage – It’s perfect for those who love taking the au naturale route in their makeup routine.
This Peripera concealer is also one of the best concealers for Asian skin as it boasts a mild formula that’s surprisingly long-lasting. It doesn’t budge, it’s lightweight and somehow all right for my occasionally sensitive skin; colour me impressed! So babes, if you’ve been looking for a skin-friendly concealer, the Peripera is your new boo – after all, it’s been tested to not irritate sensitive skin!
Overall rating: 4.7/5 stars
Criteria | Score | Opinions on the Peripera Double Longwear Cover Concealer |

Shade Range | 4 | Limited shade range that caters to fairer skin tones |
Value for Money | 5 | Good quality concealer at just below $7 a tube! |
ETUDE will always have a special place in my heart as I’ve been their long-time fan ever since I started wearing makeup! I adore their Drawing Show Brush Eyeliners and their Double Lasting Foundation, so it comes as no surprise that the ETUDE Big Cover Skin Fit Concealer Pro is also one I use often!
Unlike the foundation, ETUDE’s concealer has a thicker and more opaque formula, which works to cover up dark spots and even out large pores without feeling overwhelming. The only concern is its longevity as coverage wears off about 4-5 hours into my day. But all you need is a quick touch up and you’re good to go!
Overall rating: 4.4/5 stars
Criteria | Score | Opinions on the ETUDE Big Cover Skin Fit Concealer Pro |
Coverage | 4.5 | Good, medium coverage that can blur away small blemishes and light patches |
Longwear | 3.5 | Only lasts 4-5 hours on average, so you may need to reapply midday |
Waterproof | 5 | Waterproof and sweat-resistant, so it won’t budge or slide off throughout the day |
Finish | 4 | Matte finish that works well with both setting powder and setting spray to make the concealer last longer |
Shade Range | 4.5 | Good shade range that includes a green-tinted colour corrector and a pink-hued concealer |
Value for money | 5 | Fairly priced considering the coverage |
