I can always look forward to the CNY reunion dinners when I know there’s chilli crab! 88 Crabs Seafood Kitchen is one of my go-to places to get zi char delivery as they have some of the best chilli crabs that are perfect for ringing in a bountiful new year! Plus, their crabs have ultra-large pincers so no one has to fight for that last piece of crab meat! We also love how their delicious gravy is made the authentic way – no ketchup or seasoning packs in this sauce.
They also have classic Chinese dishes and pen cai to complete your CNY feast, but let’s be real – the focus here is their crab! Besides their chilli crab, we also love their salted egg crab and black pepper crab which you can sample with their crab trio promo ($79.90). No Chinese New Year celebration is complete without a platter!

If you haven’t heard of Keng Eng Kee Seafood, you’ve been missing out big time. This is yet another top choice for zi char, landing a mention on the 2016 MICHELIN Guide Singapore and was even featured in Street Food Asia on Netflix.
My colleague introduced me to their dishes, and their Coffee Pork Ribs are just divine! The pork ribs are coated in sticky sweet and bitter coffee sauce that strikes a nice contrast against the crispy texture. Plus, its aroma is so mouthwatering that you can smell it from across the room!
Keng Eng Kee Seafood is back with a Huat Reunion Set in time for Lunar New Year celebrations. The set feeds up to ten people, and includes classic, all-time favourite dishes like Fortune Yu Sheng, Seafood Crispy Noodle, and more! You can even add a bottle of wine to your order to make your zi char dinner even more special.

The lao diat is complete with Yu Sheng, soup, and signature mains, but you can also add more dishes ala carte. I highly recommend springing for their award-winning chilli crab dish! It’s a must-have this Chinese New Year with their special in-house chili sauce and you get to choose from seven different sizes of crab. Pro tip: choose crabs with larger pincers for more meat!

Wok your way to grab some healing dishes, or pick up the phone and put in an order for Yu Sheng from Wok Master! I always hear rave reviews about their famous Premium Claypot Dish, and I completely agree that it’s worth the hype! Filled to the brim with fresh prawns, scallops, pacific clams, sea cucumber, fish slices, fish maw and broccoli braised in Wok Master’s secret stock recipe, this scrumptious seafood feast is one that will bring in a prosperous new year!
Other dishes worth your calories include the Braised Superior Chicken with a deep herbal flavour and the Crisped-Skin Duck! They also offer the classics like sambal kangkong, salted egg sotong and hotplate tofu. But of course, we can’t forget their crab bundle that can feed up to four people. The bundle includes a refreshing crispy passion fruit prawn, tofu with crab meat, Yang Zhou fried rice and a mango pomelo sago dessert. Yum!

Ever seen a more colourful and festive Yu Sheng? New Ubin Seafood is one of my fave places to get Yu Sheng as they always deliver a dish that’s both delicious and eye-catching! Besides, it’s always tough to find a place that serves up classic zi char dishes that the whole fam will love, but New Ubin Seafood takes your favourite zi char dishes to a whole new level.
Elevating traditional zi char food, New Ubin Seafood serves up sumptuous dishes that are a fusion of Singaporean and American, French, Italian and Indian cuisines. I suggest getting the Claypot Three Cups Chicken dish which incorporates tequila instead of the usual Shaoxing wine. Get some of their USDA Black Angus ‘Choice’ Rib-Eye delivered too and you’ll have the best zi char feast perfect for your CNY reunion dinner!

Long Ji Zi Char is one of those zi char places where you’d return time after time knowing that the food will always be shiok. The food quality and service remain consistent, if not better — perhaps because the owner is also the chef himself! Their Bee Hoon Crab is thoroughly infused with the wok aroma and depends solely on the crab’s fresh sweetness to bring out the flavour in the dish.
Long Ji Zi Char is a personal favourite of my parents as the chef makes sure there’s no MSG added to any dish. What you get is the wholesome flavour of expertly-cooked ingredients! Want in on a little secret? Order their Crispy Chicken with Cereal and Pumpkin Sauce – an underrated dish that’s sure to become a Chinese New Year tradition for your fam!

We’ve seen seafood bee hoon popping up on every restaurant menu, but the original is still the best IMO! The best-selling White Bee Hoon is drenched in flavourful egg gravy and topped with juicy prawns, squid and vegetables for a light but rich dish that’s perfect for your CNY reunion dinner. The smooth texture will have you slurping the whole plate up in no time, so we suggest upsizing it to a medium or large plate if you’re sharing it with your family.
Their seafood white bee hoon isn’t their only signature dish. Their Yam Ring with Curry Chicken is a must-try – flavourful curry chicken nestled in a light and crispy yam basket. Psst, they also have same-day delivery available if you order at least one hour in advance so you can still place an order in time for Chinese New Year!

Skipping meat for your New Year’s resolutions? You don’t have to skip out on scrumptious dishes for your CNY reunion dinner too! My friends introduced me to some vegetarian zi char options that don’t need meat to be flavourful. Catering to vegetarian foodies who love zi char, Zi Zai Vegetarian has an extensive menu that covers anything from claypot tofu to roti prata. Their pratas are less greasy and more crispy, it’s no wonder they are so popular among loyal customers.
I highly suggest trying their Abalone Mushroom in Butter Sauce, a savoury, umami-packed dish with a slight crisp and a pleasant bite from the fried mushrooms. Cooked with a medley of spices and quality ingredients, you won’t even miss the meat! So whether it’s an intimate date night or a get-together feast, Zi Zai Vegetarian is sure to satisfy all your cravings for the ultimate vegetarian zi char dinner!

Zhen Yi Vege Place is one of the best vegetarian zi char delivery places that’s most famous for their Cereal Veggie Prawn. It’s a zi char staple I highly recommend as it elevates any celebration dinner! Savour the generous amount of cereal bits – who doesn’t love that crisp, malty flavour? A stellar combination of sweet and savoury, the mock prawn has a nice bite similar to that of fish cake, firm yet chewy at the same time. Rest assured that you can look forward to a well-balanced, nutritious reunion dinner, even without the meat!

One whiff of this dish and you’ll get chargrilled aromas resembling actual satay enveloping the skewered monkey-head mushrooms. Take a generous dip of the thick, velvety gravy and you probably can’t tell a difference from its actual, meaty counterpart! What’s more, it’s a pleasing centrepiece to add to your CNY reunion dinner, and a lucky one at that.

The best reunion dinners are the ones that remind you of home. This is where Lotus Vegetarian comes in. Lotus Vegetarian was started by Rebecca, an ordinary housewife who has a passion about whipping up vegetarian dishes. With a tantalising collection of Chinese dishes featuring mainly Hakka delicacies that boast a contemporary twist, this famous Taiwan-hailed zi char restaurant has won hearts (and bellies) of many!
A must-try is their Truffled Hakka Abacus Trio – a dish that sees yam, sweet potato, and Chinese yam abacus seeds tossed in truffle oil. Go vegetarian for your next zi char dinner with a scrumptious feast that’s sure to wow the whole family! And don’t worry, their dishes are still special even without the meat as Lotus Vegetarian uses fresh, quality ingredients in everything from their Yu Sheng to their pen cai!

It’s no debate that the smoky wok hei flavour is what makes zi char dishes extra delicious. New Fut Kai celebrates the taste of Asia with its range of Charcoal Hotpots and Chef Made Signatures, perfect for those who love their dishes with a strong pang of wok hei. Touted as one of the best zi char delivery places in Singapore, they offer contemporary fusion dishes such as Pesto Wontons and Pumpkin Sauce Mushrooms that have been proven to suit every taste palette. And good news for vegans: they also offer vegan-friendly dishes too!
However, nothing beats a good hotpot to add extra warmth to your family reunion dinner. Their famous charcoal hotpots come with a choice of five soup bases: mushroom, fish head, soy miso, yuzu coconut, or tomato. You’ll be surprised by their numerous healthy hot pot ingredients and soup base. They also have a great pen cai for CNY, with layers of slices of vegetarian abalone, glass noodles, and broccoli – a great way to ring in Chinese New Year!
