Hands up if you’ve ever tried to make green curry at home! We have and although it was a pretty good attempt, it didn’t quite get to the same authentic levels at some of the best Thai restaurants in Singapore. The green curry at Soi Thai Kitchen won us over with its sweet, savoury and thick gravy with generous chunks of chicken and juicy eggplants. Good news for late night supper hunters, the Tampines outlet stays open past midnight!
Address: Blk 824 Tampines Street 81 #01-28, S(520824)
Opening Hours: Daily, 11am – 2.30pm and 5.30pm – 2am

Pandan leaves chicken is not probably as well known as the other Thai dishes but its lesser-known status is in fact, what makes it even more special. The chicken is marinated before being encased in pandan leaves and then deep fried. To eat it, all you have to do is gently peel off the pandan leaves before digging into the chicken which by now would have been infused with refreshing, aromatic flavours.
Nakhon Kitchen is one of the best Thai restaurants in Singapore that’s known for cheap, authentic Thai Food. The pandan leaf chicken is just one of the many signature dishes on the menu — juicy and oh-so-yummy! Other must try dishes include tom yum soup and green curry.

If there is one dish that we have to order at any Thai restaurant, it has to be tom yum soup. The word, ‘tom yum’ is made up of two words — ‘tom’ which refers to the boiling process and ‘yam’ which means mixed. What you’ll get is a boiling pot of soup mixed with seafood and tastes a little bit sweet, sour and sometimes very spicy!
Joe’s Thai Kitchen tucked away at Bukit Merah is one of the best Thai restaurants that serves authentic Thai food. Their rendition on tom yum soup is a clear broth, going at just $7.50. Choose from seafood, prawn, sliced fish, fried fish and chicken when ordering! We personally love the tom yum soup here — it’s piquant with just the right amount of spiciness to not leave you reaching for your glass of water after every spoonful.

Opening Hours: Daily, 11am- 3pm, 5pm – 10pm
87 Just Thai is another hidden gem on this list. The flagship outlet at Pasir Panjang easily earns a spot on our roundup of best Thai restaurants in Singapore. Dishes are inexpensive and the establishment serves up delicious Thai food, justifying its long queues on most days. While almost all the dishes are praise-worthy here, the tom yum soup (choose from clear or red, both $8) is the dish that drives it home for most customers. The tom yum ‘goong’ (meaning prawns) has a sour kick to it with a tinge of spicy. You can also add some carbs to your soup by going for the tom yum noodle soup on the menu — the perfect meal for a rainy day!
Address: 87 Pasir Panjang Road, S(118510)
Opening Hours: Mon – Tues, Thurs – Sun: 11.30am – 2pm, 5pm – 9pm
A second outlet is available at Killiney. Contact 87 Just Thai for more information.
Have you ever tried Thai wanton noodles? Thai style wanton noodles or ba mee is almost the same as the local wanton noodles except that this dish is made with pork lard oil which gives it a distinct aroma. If you’ve yet to try this dish, KinMoo is the place to head to! Their signature Thai wanton noodles feature springy egg noodles, dumplings, pork collar char siew and tossed in pork lard. It’s topped with coriander and Thai garlic and is almost as close as what you’d get back in Thailand. Apart from being one of the best Thai restaurants in Singapore to serve ba mee, KinMoo is also known for other Thai style noodles like braised pork noodles and tom yum soup noodles!
