Established in 2003, Kallang Ice World is Singapore’s longest-running ice skating rink – especially since The Rink @ JCube is now no longer, cries. Located within Leisure Park Kallang, this rink boasts a spacious arena of over 600 square metres – perfect for both novice and experienced skaters.

It has served as a training ground for local ice skaters and a popular recreational spot for families and friends. But they also offer a variety of beginner classes. Taught by qualified instructors, your kids will be able to find their footing on the ice in no time. Otherwise, grab one of the free ice skating aids available before they’re swept up by others!

Beyond recreational skating, Kallang Ice World also hosts various events throughout the year. This includes ice hockey matches, figure skating performances, and even themed skating sessions during festive periods. But did you know Kallang Ice World also features a dedicated curling lane? Visitors can have a hand at trying this strategic and social sport. This coupled with the vibrant atmosphere makes Kallang Ice World a great place to enjoy the activities and soak in the bustling, lively energy!

2. The Rink @ JCube

What made The Rink @ JCube special:

  • Olympic-sized dimensions: The Rink offered a unique opportunity for skaters to experience the vastness of an Olympic-sized ice rink, similar to those used in international competitions.
  • State-of-the-art facilities: There were modern facilities and equipment, catering to both recreational and competitive skaters.
  • Spectator experience: The rink featured a dedicated 460-seat gallery, allowing spectators to witness the action up close.
  • Events and tournaments: The Rink @ JCube hosted various local and international ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating, and ice curling events.

Despite its absence, we can’t forget a worthy mention of this beloved skating haunt. The Rink @ JCube quickly became a landmark as an ice skating rink ever since it was inaugurated in 2011. This state-of-the-art facility boasted Singapore’s only Olympic-sized ice skating rink, measuring a whopping 1,800 square metres.

But it wasn’t just about offering a larger ice surface. The Rink @ JCube aimed to provide a holistic ice sports experience. The venue housed dedicated areas for figure skating, speed skating, and ice hockey, catering to both recreational and competitive enthusiasts. Additionally, it featured a 460-seat spectator gallery that allowed you to watch the action unfold. Not to mention the surrounding rink-side dining options let you grab a bite and soak in the atmosphere.

Unfortunately, The Rink @ JCube closed in August 2023 due to unforeseen circumstances. While the current status of The Rink is uncertain, the Singapore Ice Skating Association has expressed their commitment to building a new Olympic-sized ice skating rink in Singapore. And we’re sure this prospect continues to inspire the country’s ice skating scene, offering even more opportunities for both recreational and competitive skaters.

Opening hours: Permanently closed
