This weekend, stake out your favourite vantage point around Marina Bay and catch a sneak peek of the dazzling pyrotechnics for free. Besides the booming fireworks on Saturday night, keep an eye (and ear) out on Saturday afternoon for RSAF fighter jet flyovers zooming overhead. It’s a grand, patriotic spectacle that lets you and the family enjoy National Day vibes a month early, without the need for actual parade tickets!

2. CellarFiesta 2025

Billed as Singapore’s biggest booze bash, this alcohol festival takes over Suntec Convention Centre Hall 404 with over 160 local and international brands and 600+ varieties of wines, sakes, and spirits for you to sample. Stroll through interactive booths, chill at the brand-new beer garden, and munch on gourmet street bites from Korean corndogs to sushi tacos.

3. Jazz in July at Esplanade

All month long – including this weekend – the Esplanade will host over 120 live performances spanning the smoothest and sultriest genres of jazz. From big band swing to contemporary fusion, you’ll catch both legendary jazz veterans and new-generation talents jamming on stage. International stars like New York swing maestro Johnny O’Neal and the award-winning Immanuel Wilkins Quartet will set toes tapping with classic and modern tunes. Stop and smell the roses – literally – at Rose Romance, the latest spectacular floral display at Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome. This year’s edition brings a touch of English charm to Singapore, in partnership with the British High Commission. The theme pays homage to the legend of King Arthur and medieval romance. Stroll through scenes of castles and cottages woven into the landscape, surrounded by over 15,000 blooming roses of 65 varieties. Expect classic English garden vibes with roses in every hue – from crimson reds to soft pinks and sunshine yellows – arranged in picturesque archways and flowerbeds.

5. Katong Kultura 2025

East-siders rejoice – Katong Kultura 2025 is bringing cultural buzz to the neighbourhood. This event turns the i12 Katong Mall atrium into a celebration of the area’s Peranakan heritage. Step into the atrium and you’ll find it transformed into a charming Peranakan mansion scene, complete with colourful nyonya tiles and vintage decor. There are plenty of hands-on activities to keep everyone engaged: try on elegant kebaya and batik outfits for a fun photo op, or join the complimentary arts and crafts workshops on weekends where kids (and adults!) can DIY air-clay kueh figurines, paint Peranakan tiles, and make beaded souvenirs. Larger-than-life Peranakan food replicas and a mini spice garden exhibit will tickle your senses as you explore, and kids even get an activity booklet to learn as they play!

6. SkillsFuture Festival 2025

Who says learning stops when school is over? The SkillsFuture Festival 2025 is a six-week bonanza of events aimed at helping Singaporeans upskill, reskill, and discover new career and learning opportunities. Expect over 100 events across the island, from glitzy expos in shopping malls to heartland workshops in community centres. This weekend, a key highlight is the SkillsFuture Roadshow at VivoCity (10–13 July) – head to VivoCity’s Level 1 Atrium to explore interactive booths where you can get one-on-one career consultations, discover what training subsidies or courses you’re eligible for, and even snag some freebies. 

There are also industry-specific fairs – from an AI & Digital Security showcase co-hosted with Microsoft, to a Care Economy Jobs fair spotlighting healthcare and early childhood careers. The world-famous Balloon Museum from Italy has landed in Singapore for the first time, bringing with it a fantastical exhibition called Pop Air: Art is Inflatable. Housed in a massive hall at Marina Bay Sands, Pop Air is basically a giant playground of art made from balloons. Wander through rooms filled with towering inflatable sculptures, trippy glowing orbs, and bouncy installations that blur the line between art and amusement park. Stroll through Sensoryscape on Sentosa and you’ll encounter an intricately designed Peranakan House brought to life with vivid projection mapping and dazzling light shows. Dive into the culture by checking out exhibits of ornate Nyonya jewellery and traditional instruments, or even rent a Kebaya on-site for a fun dress-up and photo shoot around the heritage displays.
