Orh nee can usually be found at the end of wedding dinners and they’re a warm dessert that’s light on the stomach. This dessert is actually a yam paste that has been cooked with shallot oil. You’ll also get gingko nuts or pumpkin paste with this dessert.
Tau suan is a dessert that most of you would have gotten for your elderly parents and/or grandparents. It’s a sweet dessert that has a somewhat gooey texture. Tau suan consists of steamed mung beans and sugar syrup that’s boiled with pandan leaves. Some versions also use gula melaka to help thicken the sugar and water mixture.
