With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I’m excited to celebrate outside with my boyfriend — and of course, I need to snag those seats before they’re all gone! As much as I love indulging in great food, I also want to be kind to my wallet, haha. So I’ve done some digging and found some of the most affordable romantic restaurants in Singapore that offer delicious meals and great vibes, without the hefty price tag!Olivia Restaurant & Lounge
Price: From $48 for mains
Olivia Restaurant & Lounge is one place I can guarantee your partner will leave feeling impressed. I took mine here for his birthday, and even though he’s a picky eater, he was all smiles by the end of the meal. Start with the Octopus ‘A FEIRA’ ($39). The octopus was tender and perfectly chewy, complemented by crispy pork belly that offers a satisfying “krrr” crunch. The potato mash was also velvety smooth, with a smoky depth and a delicate hint of paprika that ties everything together beautifully.
We then had the Black Rice with Carabineros ($65). The rice is cooked with squid ink, giving it a creamy, rich texture and deep flavour. The prawns are super fresh, though the dish does lean a bit on the salty side. What stands out is the rice itself – each grain is really plump, adding a delightful texture to the dish. And yes, I know our $100 budget is blown by now, but you must try Olivia’s Creamy Homemade Cheesecake ($15). Made with blue cheese, it has a rich, tangy flavour, and the middle is intentionally runny and jiggly – SO, SO good. You really have to try it to understand how amazing it is!
