Need help figuring out the NDP fireworks 2024 timing? Well, of course, we all know that the main one is going to take place on 9 August 2024. But there have been rehearsals, so it’s just a matter of time before we catch a sneak peek of those fireworks. All we know is that there will be two previews, one on 27 July and the other on 3 August. And the fireworks usually start going off between 8.10pm and 8.30pm. So keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for that sound we know far too well.
The Marina Bay Promontory is a no-brainer when one’s thinking about where to watch NDP fireworks. It’s the most preferred place because you’re free to set up your own picnic. Lay a mat, grab some drinks and snacks and chill with your friends while anticipating the spectacle that’s about to unfold before you. It’s not every day that you’ll get such a magnificent view of Marina Bay!
Address: Marina Bay Promontory, 11 Marina Boulevard, S(018940)
As another spot with enough space to lay down a picnic mat, Marina Barrage feels more spacious than the Promontory because it’s further from the live NDP 2024 fireworks. Once you’re done flying kites and taking photos of the beautiful skyline, you can begin preparing for the fireworks show at night. However, one deal-breaker is that the fireworks might be blocked by the MBS building so you’ll have to decide which you value more — the spaciousness or the view of the fireworks.
Address: Marina Barrage, 8 Marina Gardens Drive, S(018951)
Fancy an unobstructed view of the vibrant pyrotechnic display with the Merlion for company? Merlion Park will likely be the most crowded area to watch the NDP fireworks. While waiting for the fireworks to start, why not pose with Singapore’s national icon as it perches over the mouth of the Singapore River!
Address: Merlion Park, 1 Fullerton Road, S(049213)
While Helix Bridge would normally be a fireworks viewing hotspot because of its prime view of The Float, the DNA-shaped steel footbridge will likely be less populated given that this year’s NDP is at the Padang. If you’ve always wanted to take in the bay area sights while admiring the NDP 2024 fireworks, there’s no better occasion than this year to do so!
Address: Helix Bridge, Entrance at Youth Olympic Park, Raffles Avenue, S(039805)
A hidden gem when it comes to scenic picnics and tranquil bike rides, Bay East Gardens offers a gorgeous view of the skyline at Marina Bay. While it can be rather inaccessible and far from the actual NDP fireworks, Bay East Gardens is a viable alternative if you prefer to watch the fireworks without fighting crowds.
Address: Gardens By The Bay, 1 Fullerton Road, S(049213)
If you’re looking for an alternative to the wealth of locations that constantly place you right by the Singapore River, pay the Esplanade a visit! Being one of the few free places on this list that grant visitors an elevated view of the NDP 2024 fireworks, you won’t regret securing the limited spots available at the Esplanade Roof Terrace.
Address: Esplanade Roof Terrace, 8 Raffles Avenue, S(039802)
Get up early and snap up a picnic spot at The Lawn @ Marina Bay! It’s essentially a mini version of Marina Barrage but with an unhindered view of the NDP 2024 fireworks display. This spot is located right in the middle of the Central Business District. So you’ll definitely have a higher chance of getting the perfect seats here when you’re thinking about where to watch NDP fireworks 2024. Just remember to plan out your red and white outfit to really show off your patriotic spirit!
Address: 8A Marina Boulevard, S(018984)
Merlion Park is not the only place you can get views of the fireworks. Right next to it is Jubilee Bridge. It’s a long stretch that’s perfect for everyone to fan out and immerse themselves in the atmosphere. You’ll get a clear view of the Padang, since it’s located directly opposite Jubilee Bridge. And we’re sure everyone will be overwhelmed by all the feels as National Day songs play and fireworks dance across the night sky. Sobs.
Address: 1 Esplanade Drive, S(038981)
Can’t grab a spot at the rooftop (#6)? Head on down to level 1 and snatch whatever space you can at the Waterfront Promenade. It may be a lot more crowded but we guarantee that you’ll have just as good an experience watching the NDP fireworks. Plus, it’ll be easier to leave instead of having to squeeze with crowds within the Esplanade.
Address: 1 Esplanade Drive, S(038981)
Marina Square’s going to be packed at this time of the year. But if you manage to secure a prime spot in the rooftop area, you should stay put. It’s essentially a little garden haven that has clear views of the city skyline. So get yourselves and your cameras ready to be wowed by the lit up night sky when the fireworks come out to play!
Address: Marina Square, 6 Raffles Boulevard, S(039594)
As one of the favourite haunts to catch fireworks during New Years countdown events, the National Gallery is therefore another great place when you’re thinking about where to watch NDP fireworks in 2024. Head up to the sixth floor where there’s open space for you to catch the magnificent sight at night, but do be mindful of overcrowding. It’s also recommended to simply book a spot at Smoke & Mirrors or Art di Daniele Sperindio, some of the restaurants located on the same floor. Wouldn’t it be lovely to sip on tasty goods while enjoying spectacular views of the fireworks?
