1. Project Acai Katong

Refreshing acai bowls with an air-conditioned pet area

If you’re looking for a healthy treat to snack on while working through your to-do list, this acai cafe is one of the best work-friendly options for you! Here, acai bowls and smoothies are made upon order, and their superfood base is blended in small batches to maintain utmost freshness. Project Acai is also Singapore’s first dedicated acai cafe, so they know their stuff.

Unlike other acai outlets and cafes, this one is spacious and there’s plenty of seating space! There’s even a dedicated area for customers with pets, so your furkids won’t have to squeeze if you’re planning on bringing them here. The interior is aesthetically pleasing, and there are plenty of charging points that can be found below the seats. Therefore, this cafe is an option that frequently comes to mind whenever I’m craving something refreshing on a sweltering day.

Nearest MRT station: Marine Parade
Address: 217 East Coast Road, #01-03, S(428915)
Opening hours: Daily, 11.30am – 10pm
Price:
Bowls from $10.50
Drinks from $9

2. The Social Space

Calm atmosphere with a set-up for success

This multi-concept social enterprise cafe doubles up as a retail space, promoting a low-waste and conscious living lifestyle. From the decor to the slower pace of life, it offers a taste of what you might experience among the many things to do in Bali. So, it’s perfect if you need a day or two to chill and catch up on work at your own pace.

We know how disruptive it can be to be kicked out of a cafe just as you’re getting into the flow of things. Foresee yourself staying for long hours? I’d recommend the $45 Co-Working Day Pass to secure your seat from 9am to 5pm. Aside from access to a window counter seat with strong Wi-Fi for your documents to load at lightning speed and charging points, this weekday pass also entitles you to an all-day brunch set and two drinks to keep you fuelled.

Nearest MRT station: Outram Park / Maxwell
Address: 333 Kreta Ayer Road, #01-14, S(080333)
Opening hours: Daily, 9am – 5pm
Price:
Food from $5
Drinks from $4
Co-working option from $45

3. Monk’s Brew Club

Cafe and co-working space in one

Located among the ever-bustling stretch of Katong is this work-friendly cafe that offers a great brunch. We can’t deny that their menu sounds delicious – items like Breakfast Hot Plate ($27) and Choco Bomb Pancake ($22) have my mouth already watering! Despite its industrial-looking interior, the atmosphere here is warm and welcoming. It’s also cosy with plush sofas and even playing mats if you’re planning on bringing the little ones along.

As the cafe space on the first floor can get pretty lively, it’s more suited for a quick meal with a friend or some light work. If you need to concentrate, head upstairs and visit the co-working space. For $20 a day, you’ll enjoy a complimentary coffee and ample charging points, so it’s much more conducive for a solid work session.

Nearest MRT station: Marine Parade
Address: 57 East Coast Road, S(428773)
Opening hours:
Mon – Tue: 8am – 5pm
Wed – Sun: 8am – 10.30pm
Price:
Food from $6
Drinks from $5
Co-working option from $20

4. Well Collective

Spacious, pet-friendly cafe

If you’re looking for a cafe with plugs to visit after your morning stroll with your pet at the nearby Punggol Promenade, this is it! Well Collective is spacious and well-lit, so every visit always puts me in a good mood. While you’re there, why not give their seasonal drinks a try? Those craving something refreshing will enjoy the Yuzu Soda Matcha Cream, a great citrusy choice on a hot day. Otherwise, the Osmanthus Tea with Sea Salt Cream is a comforting option for its fragrant floral notes.

And because we can’t possibly let our pets go hungry, getting them a Pet Bento ($15) is a great way to keep their little bellies full and help them feel included. If you live in the area and are looking for a cafe for your next work-from-home day, this is an option that you simply can’t miss.

Nearest MRT station: Punggol
Address: Northshore Plaza 2, #02-11/12, S(820418)
Opening hours:
Mon – Thu: 12pm – 10pm
Fri – Sun: 10am – 10pm
Price:
Food from $10
Drinks from $3

5. Plain Vanilla Tiong Bahru

Beautiful skylight and delicious desserts

As the flagship store of the popular franchise, you’re guaranteed to enjoy a wide range of bakes and brunch options to fuel you through your work sessions! This outlet has opened a skylight in the cafe’s ceiling, transforming the old shophouse into a bright and open space that’s perfect for a productive work session. On your next visit, you also can’t miss out on getting one of their intricately decorated cupcakes. If you love taking photos during meals with friends like I do, you’ll need ample charging points to recharge your cameras. Power sockets are conveniently located at the high desks and at alternate pillars, so Plain Vanilla at Tiong Bahru is one of the better cafes with plugs to visit!

Nearest MRT station: Chinatown
Address: 1D Yong Siak Street, S(168641)
Opening hours: Daily, 7.30am – 7pm
Price:
Food from $8
Drinks from $4

6. Twenty Eight Cafe

Minimalist cafe with good service

This cafe is housed in a gorgeous heritage building around Mount Sophia, so you already know you’re in for an afternoon of good vibes. Here, timeless minimalism and the warm hospitality of the staff combine to create a welcoming environment. While Twenty Eight Cafe was established only in 2018, it has become a hotspot for both students and adults alike due to its comforting atmosphere and unique dishes. These include the many Western dishes that come with a pleasant Japanese twist for a hearty meal, such as the Wafu-wafu ($18) and the Salmon Mentaiko Bowl ($16), which are sure to keep you full. For the superb food, I’d recommend visiting this spot if you’re looking for a cafe with plugs to work at.

Nearest MRT station: Dhoby Ghaut
Address: 28 Wilkie Road, #01-06, S(228051)
Opening hours:
Mon – Fri: 7.30am – 4.30pm
Sat – Sun: 8am – 4.30pm
Price:
Food from $12
Drinks from $4.90

7. Six Letter Coffee

Taiwan-style and aesthetic cafe

Located along Tanjong Katong Road is this quaint cafe that offers a wide variety of brunch and coffee options. With nature-inspired photo spots scattered around the cafe (including a swing), this one reminds me of those in Taiwan. Recently, the owners have spruced up the place. So, it’s a great time to visit if you’ve always wanted to but haven’t had the opportunity to do so!

I also find that the coffee here is much better than that of large franchises – sorry, Starbucks! This work-friendly cafe also offers free water, so it’s perfect for students to study after their lessons. Just note that it might not be the most conducive on weekends, as it does get quite crowded.

Nearest MRT station: Dakota / Tanjong Katong
Address: Beng Tong Mansion, 259 Tanjong Katong Road, S(437047)
Opening hours:
Mon – Tue: 7am – 5pm
Wed: 7am – 3pm
Thu – Sun: 7am – 5pm
Price:
Food from $9
Drinks from $5.30

Good vibes await on your next visit to The Book Cafe! Whether you’re planning to get some work done or just want a place to chill on your day off, this cafe is one that never misses. You’ll love this cafe even more if you’re a book enthusiast like I am, as you’ll be able to pick a book from their extensive collection to read while you’re there. The Book Cafe also offers a laid-back atmosphere that’s designed to help you relax while keeping you focused and creative to accomplish your tasks. Cosy up on one of the sofas and enjoy a cup of tea as you take in the ambience. And don’t worry about your devices running out of battery, as this is a cafe with plugs that customers can use freely.

Mon: 8.30am – 5.30pm
Tue – Sun: 8.30am – 9.30pm

9. Homeground Coffee Roasters

Spacious with friendly baristas

Originally located at Joo Chiat, Homeground Coffee Roasters recently relocated to a larger outlet at Outram Park due to overwhelming demand. It now occupies two shophouse units, so it’s spacious and you won’t have any issues with finding a seat. This aesthetic cafe is furnished with Japanese-inspired interiors, creating a space that fans of MUJI will love.

This cafe specialises in coffee, so it’s perfect if you want a cuppa to sip on as you do your work. The attentive and friendly staff are also more than happy to share anything and everything related to coffee, so feel free to grab a seat at the counter if you feel like having a chat. If you’re looking for a cafe with plugs and amazing coffee, you’ve found it! And because we all need some retail therapy, check out Homeground Coffee Roaster’s retail corner and pick out a bag or two of coffee beans to reward yourself once you’re done for the day.

Nearest MRT station: Outram Park
Address: 911 Bukit Timah Road, S(589622)
Opening hours: Daily, 8am – 4.30pm
Price:
Food from $7
Drinks from $4.50

10. Swee Lee Clarke Quay

Trendy vinyl cafe

Swee Lee Music
(Credit: sweeleemusic / Instagram)

Planning to visit this TikTok-viral vinyl cafe to see if it’s worth the hype? Simply purchase a drink, and you’ll be entitled to use the record player for an hour to listen to your favourite artists. While Swee Lee Clarke Quay does offer mains like Aglio Olio ($18.50), don’t overlook tantalising finger food options such as the Cheese Fries ($9) and the Sweet & Spicy Drumlets ($11.50). Dinks-wise, I’d recommend their speciality Kaya Cloud ($9) for a flavourful partnership between Jasmine green tea infused in cold brew and a delicious kaya cloud to top it all off.

Swee Lee Clarke Quay can get crowded even on weekdays as it’s one of the few vinyl cafes with plugs available at every listening station. So, it might not be the best option if you require a quieter environment to focus on your work.

Nearest MRT station: Clarke Quay
Address: Clarke Quay, Block 3B River Valley Road, #01-06, S(179021)
Opening hours: Daily, 11am – 9pm
Price:
Food from $9
Drinks from $4.50

11. Botany

Cafe that doubles as a co-working spot on weekdays

botany cafes with plugs
(Credit: Botany Singapore / Facebook)

As one of the best brunch spots in Singapore, Botany is perfect for folks looking for a work-friendly cafe that also whips up a delicious meal. Chefs here serve a blend of Eastern and Western flavours, crafting delicious dishes that are sure to impress. My picks are the Hearty Minestrone Soup ($12) and the Singapore Grilled Chicken With Balinese Salsa ($19) for a comforting meal before I get cracking on my tasks. As Botany was originally designed as a workspace for professionals on weekdays, it’s the change in work environment that you never knew you needed.

Nearest MRT station: Havelock
Address: 86 Robertson Quay, #01-03, S(238245)
Opening hours:
Mon – Fri: 9am – 10pm
Sat – Sun: 8.30am – 10pm
Price:
Food from $12
Drinks from $3

12. Runes

Gorgeous glasshouse design for both working adults and students

runes cafes with plugs
(Credit: Runes / Facebook)

Runes is a frontrunner on our list when we’re looking for a minimalistic cafe with plugs and free Wi-Fi! There’s also a water dispenser, which is great if you’re planning to stay until your work is completed. Thanks to the large glasshouse design, plenty of natural light filters through the large windows. This frames the cafe beautifully and allows you to enjoy the natural greenery outside, so it’s a zen spot for you to get productive. That said, the food here is nothing special and the portions are small, so I’d come here mainly for the conducive environment.

Nearest MRT station: One-North
Address: Wilmar International Limited, 28 Biopolis Road, Level 1 Lobby B, S(138568)
Opening hours:
Mon – Fri: 8am – 4pm
Price:
Drinks from $5

13. Kith Cafe

Convenient locations and communal tables

(Credit: Kith Cafe / Facebook)

If you’re heading out on your own but need some motivation to get things done, visit Kith Cafe! This work-friendly cafe offers a variety of seating options such as its iconic communal tables, so you can get motivation from other patrons. Kith Cafe is also one of the few cafes with plugs at every seat, so charging your devices is easy and convenient. With high-speed Wi-Fi that’s also available, you’re guaranteed a productive work session.

Need a beverage to sustain your energy levels like I do? I’d recommend getting a pot of tea as it’s refillable, so you won’t have to spend on an additional drink. Kith Cafe’s strategic location also makes it easily accessible, so it’s a good spot to cross off some tasks from your to-do list before heading out to meet with friends!

Nearest MRT station: Promenade
Address: 9 Raffles Boulevard, #01-44/45, S(039596)
Check out their other outlets here
Opening hours: Daily, 7.30am – 10pm
Price:
Food from $3.95
Drinks from $2.95

14. Enchanted Cafe

Late-night cafe with special cold brews

Looking for a late-night working spot that’s not at Changi Airport? As it’s open until 3am, night owls will enjoy this spot for those study or work sessions when you just can’t fall asleep. Enchanted Cafe also specialises in cold brews, so you can’t miss out on a cup if you’re planning to visit.

From timeless classics like Black Cold Brew ($6.90) to other interesting flavours such as Bandung Cold Brew ($6.90), this cafe has redefined the cold brew scene with its array of spectacular concoctions. So, it’s my pick if I need a cafe with plugs to work at and I’m craving some aromatic coffee. The environment here is also cosy, so it’s a hidden gem for those who want to grab some dessert with friends. I’d go for the Waffle With Gelato ($9.90) for a sweet treat that hits the spot. The next time you’re up for supper, check out this cafe!

Nearest MRT station: Kallang
Address: 88 Rangoon Road, #01-04, S(218374)
Opening hours: Daily, 9am – 3am
Price:
Food from $3.50
Drinks from $5.0

15. The Ritual Cafe

Soothing environment that calms the soul

For a calm and healing environment, The Ritual Cafe is one that’s perfect if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by life’s stressors lately. Designed to support and enhance personal well-being, this is the place to be to get some work done while intentionally slowing down your pace of life. The menu here is also perfect for those of us who are health-conscious, offering dishes that are high in protein and even gluten-free options.

If you’re visiting during mealtime, go for the Barramundi with Homemade Sambal ($28) for some fresh fish that comes with a fiery kick. The cold-pressed juices ($9) are also a recommended choice of beverage if you’re feeling under the weather and need a detox. The Ritual Cafe is super spacious too, so it’s ideal if you’re thinking of staying to work for the day.

Nearest MRT station: Stevens
Address: 383 Bukit Timah Road, #01-09b, S(259727)
