Best dim sum buffets in Singapore for free-flow yum cha
1. Empress
Parked in the Asian Civilisations Museum, along the Singapore River, is Empress. A Chinese restaurant that blends traditional cuisine with contemporary vibes – something suitable for kids like us who tend to find these places a tad too gaudy. I’ve even attended a friend’s wedding here, and dare I say that the food was really good.
So when I found out about their Empress’ Weekend Dim Sum Brunch ($63++/pax), I knew I had to take a look. Considering free-flow siew mais, har gaus and 14 other dim sum options, the price of the buffet is more than well worth it. But that’s not all. The buffet price includes selections of one Daily Soup, three entrées and a dessert too. There’s a rich, umami-filled King Prawn Dumpling in Supreme Broth and a Minced Angus Beef Thick Soup to choose from. And what’s dim sum without a Triple Roast Platter? You can even go for three servings of this but I’d suggest going for the Empress Roast Duck too – can’t be missed! Along with a Sticky Date & Longan Pudding, Never Too Matcha Green Tea & Coconut Mousse or something else, I’d say you’d be earning it all back with this insane buffet price!

2. Jade
The uncles and aunties in your family will be more than pleased with your choice of Jade for all future family brunches. Decked in one-of-a-kind wallpaper, the aesthetic is set to reflect its namesake. The soft shade of green isn’t just atas but also complements the overall decor to exude elegance. On top of its top-notch decor, Jade’s Weekend Yum Cha ($68++/pax, minimum 2 to dine) also boasts dim sum offerings that’s a cut above the rest.
Variety’s the name of the game here as you can enjoy everything from Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao and Abalone Siew Mai to Lobster Meat Porridge and some good ol’ Fresh Prawn Dumplings. Overall, it’s safe to say they aren’t pulling their punches when delivering tasty dim sum with a side of nostalgia!

They add to the buffet experience with premium seafood offerings like salmon sashimi, Steamed Prawn and Spinach Dumpling, and Poached Herbal Prawn! There are also crabs, prawns and over 20 dishes to fill yourself with. They’re even served from a traditional pushcart, adding to the old school vibes the restaurant is going for!

7. Beng Hiang Restaurant
Located in the heartlands, Beng Hiang Restaurant is well-loved by generations. I never knew such a gem was right under my nose, having lived in the west for at least half of my life. The Chinese restaurant is like what you’d usually expect – traditional and something our parents and grandparents would’ve brought us too many times. But why fix it if it ain’t broken?
Beng Hiang is the hallmark when it comes to the phrase, “oldie but goodie”. It’s been around since the 70s, and they’ve maintained some of the lowest dim sum buffet prices. Their “All You Can Eat” Buffet Lunch (from $26.80++/adult, $15.80++/child, minimum 2 to dine) is just around $30 even during the weekends. Enjoy the classics, like siew mai and har gows, to random additions like Curry Samosa Potatoes, Chicken Karaage and more. Just don’t forget to finish that Fish Maw Thick Soup with Crab Meat – the most luxurious and decadent seafood soup that’s only served once per person.

8. Madame Fan
You dim sum, you win some. But are you truly winning some if drinks aren’t involved? Their Dim Sum Drink Sum buffet (from $68++/pax) showcases some of the most intricately made Cantonese delicacies. Go crazy over the free-flow Siew Long Bao, Crispy Duck Rolls, Australian Striploin and more. There’s also Braised Sliced Abalone and Steamed Boston Lobster, where each diner is only entitled to one serving, so do get that!
What’s interesting is the “Drink Sum” part of the buffet. Choose from three tiers: SIP ($68++/pax), GUZZLE ($88++/pax), DAZZLE ($148++/pax); where each tier entitles you to different types of alcoholic beverages. There are cocktails, wine and beer in the SIP, while the GUZZLE also includes champagne. For this, I’d go for just the SIP if you tend to fill up easily with alcohol. All you need is the FIZZ Cocktail that features chrysanthemum tea and St Germain for an alternative to your favourite pu er at dim sum brunches.

WOK15 Kitchen serves as the perfect option for date nights, especially when you’ve been thinking about dining by the waters for way too long. Cue the marina views, with yachts all lined up, as you indulge in tasty dim sum.
Depending on your preferred menu or day, you can go for the Super Dim Sum Buffet Lunch on weekends ($49++/adult, $29++/child) or the regular Dim Sum Buffet Lunch ($39++/adult, $19++/child). As its name suggests, the ‘Super’ option features more luxurious offerings, namely Crab, Fish Maw and Pumpkin Thick Soup, and Deep-fried Sea Bass.
