Best Omakase Singapore Miyu

While you might think price equates to quality, Miyu proves that you don’t need to pay exorbitant prices to get some good omakase. My colleague recently visited Miyu with her husband for their anniversary, and she couldn’t stop raving about it afterward. The quality was on par with her favorite Michelin-starred omakase spots, yet the price was so much more affordable, starting at $168!

She also loved the atmosphere. The place felt atas yet homey, with the chefs casually chatting and joking with guests. She didn’t feel pressured or judged about how much she knew about sushi, making it a comfortable and fun dining experience fit for an anniversary dinner. So if you’re looking for the best omakase for that special occasion, Miyu is worth checking out!

My colleague visited this restaurant a couple years ago and she was so surprised for having tasted such freshness at such an insane price tag! “But on top of quality, you can also see Chef Ryo display his creativity. Look at the soy sauce foam atop sashimi in the picture (above); it really blew me away!”

Apart from amazing food, Teppei certainly wins with their theatrics as every chef brims with passion and makes sure that every customer leaves satisfied and happy. Ki Su Shoujin Omakase is one of the best spots in Singapore offering vegan and vegetarian omakase sets, serving up meatless alternatives to dishes like sashimi and wagyu bowls.

This French-Japanese fusion restaurant has earned a spot on the Michelin Guide, and it’s easy to see why. 18. Shinji by Kanesaka (St. Regis)

From $150/person for lunch

Best Omakase Singapore Shinji by Kanesaka (St. Regis)

Shinji by Kanesaka is an omakase restaurant that my colleague says is the closest you can get to sushi in Japan, praising the freshness and clean taste of each dish without being too jelak. In fact, it’s so good that she makes it a point to treat herself to their omakase meal once a year, where “even the fruits they serve at the end of some omakase sets are flown in from Japan – the melon is to-die-for!” she says.

So, if you’re craving a different kind of omakase experience, head to Shinji by Kanesaka. At $150 for a lunch set, you get a bit of everything from anago to ootoro for a good variety of dishes with new and exciting flavours to explore! And don’t forget the sea salt ice cream – it’s served between rice crackers and is the perfect palate cleanser to end your meal on a sweet note!

Note: We haven’t had the chance to visit the outlet at Carlton Hotel, but if you do go over, do note that there may be a different set of options, especially the Hana (9-piece sushi course set) that’s going at $100.

Address: St. Regis Hotel, Lobby, 29 Tanglin Road, S(247911)
Opening hours:
Mon – Sat: 10am – 10pm
