This year, National Day is bringing the celebrations back to Kallang! That means, it’s time to switch up your usual fireworks-viewing game plan. With the action centred around the National Stadium and Kallang Basin, you have plenty of promising vantage points, whether you want to be close to the stadium or enjoy the display from a quieter spot. Now, if you’re not sure where to start, check out our recommendations on where to watch the NDP fireworks in 2026. The best part? You won’t have to spend a single cent to get the best views.
*As of writing, no official fireworks display has been announced for Marina Bay in 2026.
What is the NDP fireworks schedule for 2026?

Before we reveal where to watch the National Day fireworks this year, let’s talk dates. The full NDP schedule for 2026 includes combined rehearsals, National Education shows, preview shows and, of course, the actual National Day Parade.
The main display will take place on 9 August 2026 during the actual NDP parade. But the good news is you don’t exactly have to wait until then to catch the fireworks. You can watch the Kallang night sky light up during their previews and NDP rehearsals in the lead-up to National Day:
- Combined NDP Rehearsals: 27 June & 4 July 2026
- National Education (NE) Shows: 11 July & 18 July 2026
- NDP Previews: 25 July & 1 August 2026
- National Day Parade 2026: 9 August 2026
Wondering when to have your camera ready? Here’s a quick cheat sheet based on the NDP 2026 rehearsals. As always, these timings may still change depending on the live programme.
- 7.40pm: Short fireworks display
- 8.15pm: Main finale fireworks
Pro tip: Look out for the Singapore Flag above the National Stadium. That’s your cue that the biggest fireworks display of the night is about to begin!
And, if you want to beat the post-show crowds around the National Stadium, start walking towards the nearest MRT shortly before the finale. Pick a route with a clear view of the sky and you might still catch the final bursts while getting a head start on your journey home.
Where to watch the NDP fireworks in 2026:
1. Stadium Riverside Walk
A popular spot with a clear view and a buzzing crowd.

If you want to feel as close to the stadium buzz as possible, Stadium Riverside Walk is the obvious first choice. It puts you just outside the National Stadium and close to the Kallang Basin firework action. The only trade-off, of course, is the crowd. Expect this area to be seriously packed, so make sure to arrive well before sunset if you want to chope a spot by the waterfront railing and fully soak up the atmosphere. There’s a reason this is known as the ultimate spot for watching the NDP fireworks!
Address: Singapore Sports Hub, Stadium Drive, S(397629)
Nearest MRT Station: Stadium (CC6)
2. Tanjong Rhu Promenade Park Connector
A scenic all-rounder for views, space and photos.

Bringing the family or planning a laid-back date night? Tanjong Rhu Promenade Park Connector is a solid all-rounder. With the promenade stretching along the waterfront, you have more freedom to walk around, pick a spot you like and make the most of the NDP fireworks show this year. Plus, the reflections on the water will add an extra sparkle to your photos! It can still get busy, especially on preview nights and National Day, but it is usually less crowded than the area directly outside the stadium. Just keep in mind that this is a shared park connector, so keep your setup compact and leave plenty of room for pedestrians and cyclists.
Address: Tanjong Rhu Promenade Park Connector, 136 Tanjong Rhu Road, S(436921)
Nearest MRT Station: Tanjong Rhu (TE23)
3. Kallang Riverside Park
A spacious riverside spot ideal for groups and laid-back fireworks viewing.

If sitting on the grass with your kakis sounds better than squeezing beside a railing, head over to Kallang Riverside Park. There’s more room to spread out here, so you can make a picnic out of it, and munch on some local snacks while you wait for the fireworks display. Quick tip: before settling down, walk around and choose a spot with a clear line of sight towards the National Stadium and Kallang Basin. This will save you from obstructed views from trees and waterfront structures. And, for that extra National Day spirit, come dressed in red and white and snap a few group photos before the sky lights up!
Address: Corner of Kallang Road and Crawford Street, S(397732)
Nearest MRT Station: Lavender (EW11)
4. Kallang Lawn Bowl
A hidden gem away from the main stadium crowd.

Kallang Lawn Bowl may not be anyone’s first choice when asked where to watch the National Day fireworks, but that’s exactly why it’s worth considering. It’s perfect for those who want to stay within The Kallang precinct without the crowd. The open lawn layout leaves you a lot of room to spread out a mat and relax on the grass. Bring plenty of water and mosquito repellent – those mozzies do not take National Day off! As the lawn sits farther inland than the other locations on our list, there may be some areas with obstructed views to the pyrotechnics, so try to arrive early so you can choose the perfect spot. Also, with everyone else carefully planning their NDP fireworks schedule, this low-key spot may not stay hidden for long!
Address: 8 Stadium Boulevard, S(397724)
Nearest MRT Station: Stadium (CC6)
5. Lookout Deck @ Kallang Basin
A picture-perfect location for panoramic fireworks views.

If you prefer a wider perspective of the fireworks display rather than the closest possible view, I’d highly recommend the Lookout Deck @ Kallang Basin. The lookout areas give you a panoramic view across the water towards the stadium, making it a lovely spot for those picture-perfect skyline photos. The basin adds a scenic foreground, especially when the fireworks start reflecting on the water. There are grassy areas nearby too, so you can bring a picnic mat or a folding chair and settle in for the evening. This is quickly becoming a favourite for those in the know, so try to arrive before sunset if you want a good spot near the waterfront.
Address: Lookout Deck @ Kallang Basin beside Kallang Riverside Park, S(397732)
Nearest MRT Station: Nicoll Highway (CC11)
6. Tanjong Rhu Bridge
The ultimate spot for capturing a frame-worthy National Day photo.

Hoping to capture the money shot of the night? Head to the Tanjong Rhu Bridge! With its prime location, it lets you frame the water, National Stadium and the dazzling fireworks display all in one shot. That said, the space on the bridge is limited, so it’s only ideal for taking quick photos. If you still don’t know where to watch the NDP fireworks for the rest of the night, a smart approach would be to use the bridge to check your preferred angle, then move to a wider area of Tanjong Rhu Promenade. You may also want to skip the bulky tripod – nobody wants to squeeze past camera gear on a busy footbridge.
Address: 50 Tanjong Rhu Place, S(436621)
Nearest MRT Station: Tanjong Rhu (TE23)
7. Marina Barrage
A breezy, family-friendly spot with room for everyone.

Now, if you value a spacious environment to watch the fireworks like I do, this may be one of the best spots to watch the NDP fireworks. While it’s not one of the closest places to the Kallang Basin launch area, the wide, open space at Marina Barrage creates an idyllic setting that’s perfect for friends and family (including the furkids) to enjoy kite-flying or even a game of frisbee. For the best experience, head towards a section of the rooftop lawn with a north-facing view. Once the fireworks display starts, set up your picnic to enjoy some finger food while admiring the overhead fireworks.
Address: 8 Marina Gardens Drive, S(018951)
Nearest MRT Station: Gardens by the Bay (TE22)
8. Golden Mile Tower
A secret city vantage point for higher fireworks bursts.

Wondering where to watch the NDP fireworks without the crowd? Let me let you in on a secret spot: the Golden Mile Tower. This hidden gem is for those looking for a more relaxed fireworks viewing experience. The upper level of its open-air car park gives you an elevated city view, perfect for those higher fireworks bursts. Plus, it’s close to Nicoll Highway MRT so you won’t have any trouble getting in and out of there. But, since this is a privately managed car park and not a public viewing zone, make sure to take note of the building rules and keep a backup spot in case of any event-day restrictions.
Address: 6001 Beach Road, S(199589)
Nearest MRT Station: Nicoll Highway (CC5)
9. Benjamin Sheares Bridge
A scenic option offering two ways to watch the NDP fireworks display.

Address: Benjamin Sheares Bridge, Sheares Avenue, S(039803)
Nearest MRT Station: Promenade (CC4 / DT15)
