A good ol’ cup of bubble tea is a must whenever you’re in Taiwan, and no trip is truly complete without it. After all, it’s the birthplace of this chewy cup of goodness! From small alleyways to night markets, there’s no place you won’t be able to find some Taiwan milk tea to satisfy your cravings. But that’s another problem – with so many options, it can be difficult to find the ones that are truly worth trying. So, we’ve narrowed down the top stores in Taiwan’s boba scene for you to enjoy the best bubble tea in Taipei!

Slurp on the best bubble teas in Taipei!

1. 50 Lan

Delicious tapioca pearls served at accessible locations

50 lan best bubble tea in taipei If you enjoy a strong tea profile in your drinks, like I do, you’ll appreciate a cup of bubble tea from 50 Lan. Its name translates into a balanced tea flavour, so you’ll be able to taste the various tea bases of your choice, whether it’s Jasmine Green Tea or Four Seasons Oolong Tea. My favourite is the Classic Pearl Milk Tea (NT30, ~SGD1.30), which I might have had one too many cups of. Pro tip – while it’s not on the menu, ask for the mixed pearls option to enjoy a mix of both large and small tapioca pearls for a more interesting mouthfeel.

50 Lan has over 600 stores across Taiwan, so a refreshing cup of Taiwan milk tea is always in reach. Besides milk teas, this store also offers an extensive selection of other fruity drinks that make for a sweet midday treat. Considering how good the drinks taste and the number of outlets, this is by far the best bubble tea in Taipei in my book. Wondering how to get to the outlet nearest to you? Check out our know-all guide to transport in Taiwan for a fuss-free commuting experience.

Address: Number 48-4, Xining Road, Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan 108
Opening hours: Daily, 10am – 10.30pm
Price: Drinks from NT25 (~SGD1.08)

2. Shang Yu Lin

Authentic, no-fuss Taiwanese milk tea

shang yu lin best bubble tea in taipei This brand places a heavy focus on brewing tea meticulously to create a beverage that’s rich in flavour but light on the palate. Unlike some stores that include a multitude of ingredients, Shang Yu Lin keeps things light in line with the brand’s philosophy of steeping simple teas but rich flavours. As part of the brand’s top six most recommended drinks, go for the Yinyang Milk Tea to enjoy a combination of white jelly cake and black tapioca pearls, which elevate the flavours of the signature milk tea. Taking a Taiwan road trip with elders? They may enjoy the Red Bean Mochi Fresh Milk for the taste of their favourite red bean dessert atop a silky mochi layer.

Address: Number 215, Ren’ai Street, Xinshi District, Tainan City 744, Taiwan
Price: Drinks from NT45 (~SGD1.95)

3. Yi Mu Ri

Refreshing drinks with a variety of toppings

yi mu ri best bubble tea in taipei

With all the interesting toppings, this stall might just have earned its spot as one of the top places if you’re looking for the best bubble tea in Taipei. If you enjoy taro or rice cakes as a topping for your drinks, this is the spot for you! Alternatively, Yi Mu Ri is also well-loved for its fruity concoctions. I’d go for the Lychee Oolong Tea for a refreshing and fruity drink that’s perfect for hot summer days. It’s sweet and delicious, all whilst carrying hints of floral notes. Most outlets also offer seating and power outlets, so it’s a great place to enjoy your afternoon tea while charging your devices before heading to try all the other fun things to do in Taiwan!

Address: Number 7, Heping Street, Fengyuan, Taichung, 420, Taiwan
Price: Drinks from NT50 (~SGD2.20)

4. Chun Shui Tang

History of bubble tea in a sip

Recognised as the inventor of bubble tea, Chun Shui Tang is undoubtedly one of the most popular spots that’s visited by tourists searching for the best bubble tea in Taipei. Unlike other grab-and-go places, this store places a heavy focus on the tea-sampling process. It offers a traditional teahouse experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the warm ambience while savouring a drink.

If you’re planning to drop by, order the Classic Pearl Milk Tea (NT100, ~SGD4.35) to enjoy the creamy sweetness of the tea alongside freshly-cooked tapioca pearls. For something a little more fragrant, the Buble Premium Jasmine Milk Tea (NT90, ~SGD3.90) or the Four Seasons Oolong Tea (NT85, ~SGD3.70) are also great options.

Address: Number 21-1, Zhongshan South Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City
Check out their other outlets here
Opening hours: Daily, 11.30am – 8.50pm
Price: Drinks from NT75 (~SGD3.25)

5. Ten Ren’s Tea

Premium tea leaves for aromatic teas

The ingredients used can often make or break a drink. That’s why the drinks at Ten Ren’s Tea are so good, as this brand upholds a staunch commitment to using only premium tea leaves and ingredients. Regardless of whether you fancy traditionally-brewed teas or Taiwan milk tea, you’ll be able to request lower sugar content in your drinks. So, this is a great option if you’re on the hunt for the best bubble tea in Taipei that’s not overly indulgent.

Go for the 913 beverage line to enjoy some creamy and aromatic beverages brewed from the 913 King’s Oolong tea leaves. If you ever feel like taking a break from bubble tea for the day, go for the Orange Yakult Green Tea (~NT140, ~SGD6.10) or the Lemon Green Tea Smoothie (~NT140, ~SGD6.10) to quench your thirst.

Address: Number 280, Fuxing 1st Road, Guishan District, Taoyuan City
Check out their other outlets here
Opening hours: Daily, 10am – 10pm
Price: Drinks from NT110 (~SGD4.80)

6. Chen San Ding

Famous brown sugar fresh milk drink that consistently attracts long queues

Looking for the best bubble tea in Taipei that’s cheap and good? We’ve got you covered with Chen San Ding! This shop is located near Gong Guan Night Market, so it’s the perfect place for a quick stop before you feast late into the night. Unlike other stalls, this one only serves milk-based drinks. My pick is their signature drink – the Qing Wa Zhuang Nai (frog knocking against milk), which is named after the resemblance of the tapioca pearls to frog eggs.

As you’re handed your drink, you might notice a contrast between the warm bottom layer and the cold top. That’s because the tapioca pearls are freshly simmered in brown sugar before your drink is prepared! If you’re already in the area, there’s no harm in having an indulgent treat that won’t make a dent in your wallet either.

Address: Number 2, Alley 8, Lane 316, Section 3, Roosevelt Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100
Opening hours: Daily, 10am – 10pm
Price: Drinks from NT40 (~SGD1.75)

7. Kebuke

Traditional tea brewing methods

With over 200 outlets in Taiwan, this well-known tea chain has its roots in the history of brewing rich and flavourful teas. In particular, Kebuke is best known for its aromatic and mature black tea, which complements the heavenly chewy tapioca pearls. To achieve the best brews, the store selects tea leaves from across the world. Each Kebuke is manned by friendly staff, upholding the brand’s steadfast dedication to the basics of brewing tea with care for its customers.

Address: Number 11, Section 1, Kaifeng Street, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100
Opening hours: Daily, 10am – 9pm
Price: Drinks from NT30 (~SGD1.30)

8. TP Tea

Get your bubble tea fix in 10 minutes or less

tp tea best bubble tea in taipei
(Credit: 茶湯會 TP TEA / Facebook)

TP Tea appeals to fans of Chun Shui Tang who prefer to get their favourite drinks in a convenient and to-go manner. Due to the fast preparation time that is under ten minutes, this store is also ideal if you’re in a rush but (understandably) can’t give up on a cup of Taiwan milk tea. That said, TP TEA still honours traditional tea culture by using only the finest tea leaves to brew your drink. So, this spot is a must-visit if you’re hunting for the best bubble tea in Taipei.

One of its most popular drinks is the Tieguanyin Tea Latte with Pearls (NT75, ~SGD3.25) for a taste of the robust oolong tea that effortlessly complements the creamy, fresh milk. If you’re craving something soothing on a cold, rainy day, I’d suggest the warm Osmanthus Jasmine Tea (NT55, ~SGD2.40) for a drink that epitomises comfort.

Address: Number 15, B1, Nanjing West Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City
Check out their other outlets here
Opening hours: Daily, 9am – 10.30pm
Price: Drinks from NT30 (~SGD1.30)

9. Coco Fresh Tea & Juice

Fun drinks at affordable prices of less than SGD1

Coco Fresh Tea & Juice is driven by its core mission of consistently serving customers high-quality tea. Unlike some of the other bubble tea brands that boast a more traditional feel to their packaging and storefronts, this brand radiates fun and youthful energy. Other than the classic Taiwan milk tea, Coco Fresh Tea & Juice regularly comes up with innovative new drinks and distinctive recipes. Go for Mango Pomelo (NT32, ~SGD1.40) or Bubble Gaga (NT28, ~SGD1.21), a passionfruit green tea that’s topped with pearls and coconut jelly. With so many fun options to experiment with, there’s no doubt that this store serves up one of the best bubble teas in Taipei!

Address: Number 92, Zhonghua Road, Shulin District, New Taipei City, Taiwan 238
Opening hours: Daily, 10.30am – 9.45pm
Price: Drinks from NT12 (~SGD0.55)
