Caseharden Review: Do They Have It In The Bag?

I was once all into Gentlewoman. But now, I’ve got my eye on someone new – it’s all about Caseharden now. This brand has been all over my socials these days and I happened to chance upon one of my fav fashion influencers talking about it on his IG Stories. That was the one post that convinced me and I ended up buying two bags… Needless to say, I was definitely sold on the brand’s popularity – just as he said it’s the hottest brand in Bangkok right now.

Why is Caseharden popular?

I’ve never even heard of it till my regular IG doom-scroll session. That’s when I came across an update from one of my favourite fashion influencers. He’s the boss of a local fashion brand, Supergurl, and I love how candid he is. So he’s the one I trust when it comes to all things fashion. He referred to Caseharden as one of the most popular brands in Thailand right now, and so, my interest was piqued. 

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that the latest fashion accessory trend is the bowling bag. No, we’re not talking about a duffle-sized bag that’s meant for bowling bags. The ones I’m talking about are more like our regular shoulder bags – large enough for your daily necessities. And I guess that’s probably how Caseharden has risen to fame, other than your usual word-of-mouth. After all, they’ve been designing bags that look rather familiar – *ahem*. Think other popular brands, maybe even upscale ones, and thank Caseharden for adding their unique spin to these well-loved models! 

That’s not to say that Caseharden bag designs are flamboyant. They’ve got something for everyone; their designs are chic and super versatile. From neutrals like cream and brown to the vibrant reds and yellows, Caseharden has options for an everyday look to a more atas date night. They’re interchangeable too, one bag for all occasions. But with how cute they are, I’d suggest getting more than one. After all, they’ve been selling out within a mere matter of hours the moment they restock, so don’t sit on that decision!

Caseharden Holidate Bowling Bag review

Available in 10 colours, there’s no reason why you can’t have at least one of the Caseharden Holidate Bowling Bag. I knew I was going to cop one of these, and I was veering towards the regular Black or Coffee. It’s made of PU leather that’s rather soft. But I noticed that there were tons of creases when I was watching the influencer’s livestream. So apparently, that’s normal and it’s meant to add to the overall aesthetic. But the OCD in me just couldn’t live with it. 

Then, I found out that there’s a denim collection and I immediately bought one of the three denim shades. I’m a basic girlie, so I got the Black Denim. It’s still within my colour palette, but there’s a subtle zhng to it thanks to the denim texture. And since I’m also always wearing jeans, it’s a double-win; denim on denim is a thing now, anyway!\

Just as I was about to publish this review, I found out that the Holidate Suede Collection is also available. Though it isn’t available on Shopee now, I’ve already secured one of the hottest colours: Earl Grey. So just you wait!

• Storage

Honestly, it’s quite a hefty bag. More often than not, I’d throw in some extra items while I’m rushing out of my house – yeah, I’m one of those people. But that usually doesn’t happen because most of my bags aren’t that spacey, so I was really surprised when the Holidate Bowling Bag was able to fit more than what I need for my everyday.

But if you’re always having to lug your barang-barang around, perhaps the larger Caseharden Holiplus (32 x 20 x 12cm) would be a better fit. It’s also a better option if you’re thinking of getting a new bag for when you’re travelling – the Holiplus can store your iPad (not the Pro), passport, travel wallet and a lot more!

• Material and colour options

The Holidate Bowling Bag comes in the vegan PU leather and the denim. They’re both classics; it’s easy to match them with any outfit, but there are some slight nuances. 

The denim Holidate comes in three colour options: Light Blue, Blue Jean, Black Jean. I went for the Black Jean Holidate purely because I’m a super basic girl with a very basic colour palette – mainly black and denim. Plus, denim on denim has always been a thing, so why not? And the Black Jean material is slightly different from my standard black bags. There’s a slightly textured grain that makes me feel that there’s more “colour” to my style. What really surprised me was the material. I expected denim to be pretty soft, like my actual jeans, but this Denim Holidate was pretty structured and the straps are thicccccc. I don’t feel that it’s flimsy or that it could rip over time with friction.

On the other hand, there are seven colour options to the PU leather Holidate. The Black and Cream are basics that every girl should have, while the Silver and Titanium have that Y2K vibe. What I do know is that the Cherry Red and Brown are all the rage. So either snap them up soon or set a reminder for when they’re restocked. 

• Styling versatility

This is no ordinary shoulder bag – the straps are completely adjustable. There are three adjustable holes on the end of each strap; choose from three lengths (the length in the image is the bag at its longest) to suit different occasions. Keep it fully extended, sitting at your waist level for easy access, all while maintaining a sleek and simple everyday look. Alternatively, shorten the straps so you can kiap the bag like a clutch and pull off that chic, date night aesthetic. 

Caseharden Mini Bag review

Don’t listen to them; a mini bag isn’t impractical. They just don’t realise what it means to be aesthetically minimalist. But ok, jokes aside, the Caseharden Mini Original is still of pretty reasonable size – which I’ll go into later. 

I needed a small clutch-like bag that’s cute but not too girly-girl, which is what I thought about the Caseharden Mini Glitter Collection. It’s not really an outright in-your-face kind of glitter, but it was still too sparkly for my liking. So when the denim variation was brought up, I jolted. After all, I did go for the Black Jean Holidate. There are four denim textures, and the highlight was the Mohom, which was sort of an in-between for the Dark Jean and Light Jean. But what’s special about the Mohom is the grain finish that gives the bag more texture. You can see some lines of lightness that adds some much-needed dimension to an otherwise rather flat-looking bag. And well, of course, the Mohom Caseharden Mini is the one I copped.

• Storage

Let’s not kid ourselves. You know it the moment you saw it – this isn’t a bag for storage. I went ahead with the Caseharden Denim Mini for when I want to be minimalist and stylish at the same time. Doesn’t really make sense, but you get it. It’s the right size for weddings, brunches, date nights with the husband and even wild nights at the club – you don’t need to bring along much, just the bare essentials. And true enough, the bag is pretty practical. It can fit my wallet, a cardholder, lip balm and a little bottle of sanitiser.

• Material and styling versatility

What it compromises in storage, the Caseharden Mini delivers in style. Truthfully, I was rather on the fence about the Mini because of its size. But I was sold when I found out it comes with three different straps – short denim strap, chain strap and an adjustable denim strap. Specifically, I was sold after hearing about the chain strap. Just think about how well you can accessorise with it!

You can use any of the three straps on their own, but I’d suggest using two of the straps at the same time. While using the adjustable strap, why not add the chain for an edgy vibe? It’s not just for style but practicality as well since you can always swap between a crossbody and a shoulder bag!

Is Caseharden worth the hype?

I may not know how it became popular, but I do know why. Caseharden’s bag designs aren’t just classic and versatile, but they pay homage to options from alternative brands without requiring you to shell out for it. I mean, forget budgeting. You won’t be able to just get one bag, or one colour. I bought two bags in a go, and just a couple weeks later, went for another Holidate bag but in a different colour and material. So hold on for updates as the bag isn’t arriving that soon!

It’s simple girl math. Your usual high-street bag costs a couple hundred dollars, but you’re saving money and getting a better deal with Caseharden.They even have men’s bags, along with wallets and more so all of us can make full use of our money. What’s $$500 for a bag when you can spend the same $500 on about six bags for you and hubby, and some new wallets too? I rest my case! (Just gonna get the Caravan Bag and the Saffiano Wallet since I’ve managed to convince myself too.)
