11 Cheaper Hot Pot Alternatives in Singapore To Skip Hai Di Lao’s Insane Queue

There’s no denying that we all love Hai Di Lao! But the crazy queue and exorbitant bill at the end is one big major turn-off. If you’ve resorted to purchasing Hai Di Lao soup bases, here’s another alternative for you! Check out our recommended restaurants that might just be as good as Hai Di Lao but at wallet-friendly prices! You’re welcome. 😉

1. Shi Li Fang Taiwan Hot Pot

Shi Li Fang Hot Pot
(littlemissramen)

Extremely budget-friendly, Shi Li Fang’s hot pot prices start from just $9.90++, with occasional 50% off discount for seafood and meat items! If you’re short on budget, but you have the craving for collagen-tomato-mala-mushroom soup combo from Hai Di Lao, this is where you should be turning to! Many might be turn off by the loud decor and the soft toys that are plastered all over the entrance, but we do find it pretty cute and inviting. Simply spend a minimum of $38 to earn one stamp. These stamps can then be used to redeem cute stuffed toys!

2. Shang Pin Hot Pot

Shang Pin Hot Por
(The Heartlander Tourist)

Rumoured to be started by a former Hai Di Lao employee, Shang Pin Hot Pot is just as good as Hai Di Lao with set lunches at only $18.80++! We will recommend getting the 手工拉面 which is just as good and legit as the one at Hai Di Lao. The entire experience at Shang Pin is also complete with the 师父 coming to your table to perform and cut the fresh noodles into your pot! It is definitely the best meal to have after a KTV session at the next-door Teo Heng Studio.
