I thought I’d outgrow my clubbing phase, and while I did to some extent, I’ve found something even better: music festivals! Upcoming music festivals in Asia (2025)
1. Rainbow Disco Club

Rainbow Disco Club is one of the most famous underground events where a diverse lineup of sounds — from indie grooves to trance — fills the air, all set against a backdrop of captivating art installations. DJ Nobu and Batu will be going back-to-back, weaving their unique blend of deep techno and house. The legendary Gilles Peterson will also be gracing the stage for an unforgettable five-hour set, taking you on a journey through soulful grooves, and jazz-infused house music that’ll keep you moving well into the night. This upcoming music festival in Asia coincides with the cherry blossom season, giving you the perfect excuse to extend your stay and immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Japan’s iconic Sakura in full bloom.
Date: 18 – 20 April 2025
Location: Higashi-Izu Cross Country Course, Japan
2. EDC Korea

After a five-year hiatus, EDC Korea is making a thunderous return, and it’s not coming quietly. This year’s lineup reads like an EDM Avengers roll call — Martin Garrix, Skrillex, Illenium, and Peggy Gou are set to destroy dancefloors. At the same time, techno royalty like Charlotte de Witte and I Hate Models keep it dark and dirty. House heads, don’t fret — Dom Dolla’s bringing the bounce, and Da Tweekaz are prepping a hardstyle hurricane. Expect lights, lasers, and late-night euphoria under Korea’s electric sky.
Date: 25 – 26 April 2025
Location: Inspire Entertainment Resort, Incheon, South Korea
8. Hardmission Festival

Hardmission is an absolute must for any hardstyle fan, and this year it’s in KL instead of Thailand — way closer to Singapore, so I’m considering a road trip! The energy is next level, and the headbanging fun is off the charts. What I love most about Hardmission is that it brings together die-hard hardstyle fans, which creates a vibe that’s completely different from other festivals. You’re surrounded by people who truly understand and live for the music, making the whole experience feel incredibly authentic and intense — no fake hype, just pure passion. While the lineup isn’t out yet, based on previous years, I’m betting we’ll see massive names like D-Block & S-Te-Fan and Technoboy & Tuneboy. Can’t wait for it!
Date: 23 – 24 May 2025
Location: Surf beach, Sunway Lagoon, Kuala Lumpur

With over 10 stages, 100+ performances, and a theme of “Unleashing Harmony: A Joyful Celebration of Sound,” this festival promises to be an unforgettable experience. Expect legendary acts like Stevie Wonder, Santana, and James Brown (fingers crossed), delivering electrifying performances that will have you groovin’ non-stop. Whether you’re into timeless classics or fresh, bold sounds, this three-day event is the ultimate celebration of music, bringing the world’s top musicians together for a journey that will rock your soul and keep you dancing all weekend long.

5. S2O Hong Kong

If you like your drops as wet as your socks, S2O Hong Kong is your aquatic playground. Combining massive EDM names with festival-scale water fights, this year’s headliners include crowd favourites like Marshmello, DJ Snake, Alan Walker, and Timmy Trumpet. Picture dancing in a monsoon of mist cannons while “Middle” blasts through 100-foot speakers — yeah, it’s that kind of party. Hydration? Handled.
Date: 7 – 8 June 2025
Location: Central Harbourfront Event Space, Hong Kong
6. Seoul World DJ Festival

Seoul World DJ Festival is your ticket to the ultimate party! Korea’s clubbing scene is already Seoul-good, and this Asian music fest is about to take it to the next level. Confirmed for the lineup is Anyma, the genius behind those immersive sets and beats that feel like they’re coming straight from another dimension. But don’t worry, the classics are also in full swing: DJ Snake and Alan Walker are bringing the fire you know and love, so prepare for a night of drop after drop and beats that will make you lose your mind. And when the music festival wraps up, don’t even think about slowing down — head straight to the Hongdae clubs!
Date: 14 – 15 June 2025
Location: Gyeonggi-do, Seoul
7. Fuji Rock Festival

Held mostly outdoors, Fuji Rock is a magical mashup of music and mother nature, so come rain or shine (it’ll probably be both), you’d better be ready. Nestled in the lush mountains of Niigata, this isn’t just Japan’s biggest music festival, it’s a full-on experience. We’re talking 12 stages, secret woodland gigs, riverside chill spots, and even hot springs to soak in between sets. This year’s lineup is bringing serious emotional euphoria. Fred Again, Four Tet, and Tycho are ready to send waves of goosebumps through the crowd, while James Blake and Ezra Collective are set to blur genre lines with their soulful, boundary-pushing sets. Indie lovers will be in heaven with HAIM and Vampire Weekend hitting the main stage!
Date: 25 – 27 July 2025
Location: Naeba Ski Resort, Niigata Prefecture, Japan
8. Waterbomb Singapore

Waterbomb Singapore isn’t just a music festival — it’s a high-octane splash showdown featuring the hottest names in Korean hip-hop, R&B, EDM, and K-pop. Expect fierce rap flows, electrifying DJ sets, and idol performances that light up the stage and your socials. In classic Waterbomb fashion, performers are split into blue and yellow teams for an epic water fight that’s as competitive as it is soaking wet. Last year saw stars like BamBam, Sandara Park, Jessi, and Jay Park turn the place into a party tsunami. The 2025 lineup is still under wraps, but trust — it’s shaping up to be just as wild, wet, and unforgettable.
Date: 30 – 31 August 2025
Location: Siloso Beach, Sentosa
9. Ultra Japan

Ultra Japan is one of the most epic EDM festivals in Southeast Asia, and the best part? You don’t have to trek to some random paddock in the middle of nowhere just to catch the beats. As someone who gets tired easily from all the jumping, I love how they’ve thought of everything — air cushions scattered around the open space for ravers to rest between sets. Plus, if you’re “lucky” enough to snag those early admission tickets, you can chill with your rave buddies, and have a little picnic before diving back into the madness.
Date: 13 – 14 September 2025
Location: Odaiba Island, Tokyo
10. Your Paradise Fiji

If you’re starting to get lazy with the planning (we’ve all been there!), Your Paradise Fiji is the perfect way to kick back and just enjoy. This isn’t just a festival — it’s a fully curated travel and stay experience. Imagine spending five nights in the beautiful Mamanuca Islands, staying in a bungalow surrounded by lush Fijian jungle, and dancing barefoot on the white-sand beach just steps away. Even Skrillex (#19 on the DJ Mag Top 100 list) can’t get enough: “Your Paradise is really, really fun. You’re in Fiji with your best friends. It’s intimate. I don’t know anybody that has gone to Your Paradise that says anything shy of, ‘It was an incredible time.'” Oh, and psst… I think there might even be some secret afterparties in store — how’s that for an extra dose of fun?
Date: 22 – 27 October 2025
Location: Malolo Lailai Island, Fiji
11. Rolling Loud Thailand

Hip-hop lovers — you’re going to be obsessed with Rolling Loud Thailand! Set in the buzzing city of Pattaya, this four-day music festival in Asia looks like an epic experience, especially with the Rolling Loud Caravan just a five-minute stroll from the main stage. Every year’s lineup is lit, with artists like Jay Park and Jessi on the roster — seriously, I can’t get enough of Jessi’s fierce energy and boss vibes! And the best part? You could also choose to chill in your caravan with VIP access, soaking in the views and the music from the comfort of your bed. Oh, and did I mention the 24-hour free-flow food and drinks? Now that’s what I call a flex!
Date: TBC, November 2025
Location: Legend Siam, Pattaya City, Thailand
12. Clockenflap

Think Coachella but with an Asian twist — that’s Clockenflap! This music festival in Southeast Asia blends an incredible mix of international superstars and local talent. Last year was an absolute blast, with bands like Arctic Monkeys and Bombay Bicycle Club rocking the stage. The lineup for this year is still shaping up, but last year’s names were impressive. Jack White, a 12-time Grammy winner and the lead singer of The White Stripes graced the stage, and for all the J-Pop lovers, Sakurazaka46 brought their A-game. It’s no wonder Clockenflap is one of the hottest festivals in the region!
Date: TBC, November/December 2025
Location: Central Harbourfront, Hong Kong
13. 808 Music Festival

If you’ve never experienced the 808 Music Festival, get ready for an EDM overload. With nearly a decade of dominating the festival scene, this year is set to be just as epic as the last. Last year, Anyma made his Southeast Asia debut, and Mau P brought the house down with his electrifying set. This year? Who knows — maybe we’ll see some surprises from legends like Hardwell or Charlotte de Witte, or even some fresh faces like Fisher or Rezz. Whatever happens, you can bet it’s going to be one wild ride!
Date: TBC, December 2025
Location: BITEC Bangna, Bangkok
14. Wonderfruit

I don’t know about you, but I’m someone who loves travelling solo. If I end up going solo again this year, Wonderfruit would be my top pick. This music festival in Asia is great for meeting new people and making connections. The atmosphere is so welcoming, and the community is super friendly, making it easy to strike up conversations with fellow festival-goers. Plus, with all the activities and workshops, there are tons of chances to bond over shared interests. I can already picture myself wandering through the art installations, discovering new sounds, and making some new friends.
Date: TBC, December 2025
Location: Siam Country Club, Chonburi, Thailand
15. Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP)

In 2023, I had an unforgettable time at Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) for its 10th anniversary in Bali. It was an absolute whirlwind of excitement, and by the end, I was completely wiped out, but every single moment was worth it! I can still vividly remember getting lost in the crowd, feeling the bass pulse through my chest as we all jumped in perfect sync with the beats. This year, DWP is heading back to Jakarta, and I’m so ready for round two. The lineup isn’t out yet, but you can bet I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next big announcement — this festival never disappoints!
Date: TBC, December 2025
Location: Jiexpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Indonesia
16. Sunburn Festival

If you’ve ever tried buying Tomorrowland tickets, you know it’s a battle of patience and sheer luck. I tried — and failed — this year, so I guess Sunburn Festival will be my next big alternative. And honestly, I’m not mad about it! Picture this: vibrant visuals lighting up the night, surrounded by the crashing waves of the Arabian Sea. Last year, the festival brought out huge names like Alesso and KSHMR, delivering electrifying performances that had everyone dancing until sunrise. And with the festival’s reputation for epic lineups and insane production, I’m already hyped for what this year’s going to bring.
Date: TBC, December 2025
Location: Goa, India
17. Neon Countdown

Neon Countdown — it’s yet another music festival in Asia that every raver has on their bucket list, and for good reason. There’s no better way to end the year than by immersing yourself in a colourful explosion of neon lights and paint. Pro tip: wear white to this one so you can soak up all that vibrant paint and take home a literal piece of the festival as a souvenir! But hey, if you need a little help with your outfit, don’t worry — we’ve got a list of recommended music festival outfits that will have you looking stylish and feeling comfy while you dance the night away.

EDC Thailand

EDC has always been a North American tradition, so having it here in Asia feels like a huge win for ravers. It just happened, and judging by all the rave reviews, it’s clear the festival exceeded expectations. The organisers went all out to bring that iconic EDC vibe to Asia, and they nailed it. With five incredible stages boasting names like kineticFIELD and stereoBLOOM, and headlined by international acts like Afrojack, Tiesto, Illenium, and R3hab, the music was on point. But it didn’t stop there — there were mindblowing art and technology installations, circus performers, dancers, and all sorts of immersive experiences that brought the magic to life.

S2O Songkran Music Festival

Held in the heart of Bangkok during Thailand’s iconic Songkran New Year celebration, S2O once again proved why it’s the ultimate fusion of tradition and turn-up. The festival turned the summer heat into a dance-fueled water war, complete with towering water cannons, massive LED stages, and a stacked lineup that had EDM lovers buzzing. This year, headliners like Illenium, The Chainsmokers, and Afrojack lit up the night with electrifying sets that kept the crowd moving — and soaking — from sunset ‘til the early hours. Between the pounding bass and the nonstop showers, it was less of a concert and more of an all-out aquatic rave.

Location: LIVE PARK on Rama 9, Bangkok, Thailand

Siam Songkran

Just a few kilometres away, Siam Songkran offered a more curated spin on the New Year madness — still wild, still wet, but with a bit more of a cultural twist. Blending traditional Thai performances, Muay Thai showcases, and water-based blessings with heavy-hitting EDM sets, this festival was a love letter to Thai heritage wrapped in rave energy. 2025’s edition brought together local legends and global stars across multiple stages, creating a melting pot of music and mayhem. One minute you were watching a sacred water ritual, the next you were losing your mind to a fire-breathing stage set with Yellow Claw or W&W behind the decks.
