Best roti prata in Singapore (2024)

1. Mr and Mrs Mohgan’s Super Crispy Roti Prata

While I usually enjoy prata for supper, there are times when I crave it for breakfast too! When that happens, I head straight to Mr and Mrs Mohgan’s Super Crispy Roti Prata, which opens as early as 6:30am! Mr. and Mrs. Mohgan have been serving some of the most famous prata in Singapore for the past 30 years – their prata is moderately thick and pan-fried to a perfect golden brown. But what I like most is the variety of curries to choose from – mutton, fish and dhal!

Address: 300 Joo Chiat Road, S(427551)
Opening Hours:
Thu – Sun: 6.30am – 1.30pm
Mon – Tue: 6.30am – 1.30pm

2. R.K. Eating House

Night cycling with friends presents the perfect opportunity to hit up R.K Eating House. Over time, it has become our favourite supper spot in Singapore. This eatery is famous for its pratas, and the highlight is the enormous tower of tissue prata I’ll always order when we’re in a group of three or four. It’s definitely not for the health-conscious, as we usually drizzle it with chocolate sauce, maple syrup, or honey for an extra touch of sweetness! But then again, we did work out, so it’s worth all the calories – after all, it helps with recovery (hehe).

Address: 1 Kensington Park Road, S(557253)
Opening Hours: 24 Hours

3. Springleaf Prata Place

On those lazy days, Springleaf Prata is my go-to choice on Grab. With 20 delicious options, I can never get enough of their pratas! My favourite is the classic egg prata, boasting a crisp crust and a fluffy centre, but the crispy coin roti prata is also damn good. They also have my fav dessert pratas, like red bean and strawberry, which always leave me wanting more! However, the real stars are the pratas under their Ultimate Hawkerfest Series. Their Umami-50 prata is my other favourite; with chicken luncheon meat, chicken floss, mayonnaise, mozzarella and egg, this is my ultimate guilty pleasure. There’s also the Prata Eggs Benedict that puts a unique spin on the classic brunch plate.

Address: Multiple locations including Tampines and The Rail Mall
Opening Hours: Daily, 8am – 11.30pm

4. Al-Azhar Eating Restaurant

Ngee Ann Poly students are likely very familiar with this best roti prata spot in Singapore! I remember heading there for supper after late-night rehearsals, and my go-to order would be a plain prata with the butter chicken set – think: a rich, creamy sauce with tender chunky chicken pieces for that extra oomph. Meanwhile, my friends often opted for the plaster prata or the double mozzarella cheese prata, both of which are indulgent and cheesy delights that never disappoint!

Address: Multiple locations including Tampines and Bukit Timah
Opening Hours: Daily, 24/7

5. Master Prata

I first heard about Master Prata from friends who live nearby, and I was surprised by how small the shop is. Small in size, but BIG in satisfaction! They offer the best crispy coin pratas in Singapore, delivering a satisfying crunch with every bite. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, you can’t go wrong with the plaster prata, featuring a runny yolk and an irresistible sugary base. Don’t forget to wash it down with a refreshing cup of their popular lime juice!

Address: Multiple locations including Alexandra Central Mall and Sembawang
Opening Hours:
Sun – Thu: 8am – 12am
Fri – Sat: 8am – 12.30am

6. The Roti Prata House

When I mention Upper Thomson, your first thought would probably be the string of cafes. Well, me too, until one day I stumbled upon this best prata place in Singapore – The Roti Prata House.  I was shooked to see long queues even on a weekday night! Their menu is incredibly intriguing, with adventurous options like durian, blueberry, and pineapple-flavoured pratas. But, I’m a boring person so I went with the kosong, which is a simple yet satisfying crispy prata that pairs perfectly with their rich curry. It may not be flashy, but it’s always a comforting classic that hits the spot!

Address: 246 Upper Thomson Road, S(574370)
Opening Hours:
Sun – Thurs: 7am – 2am
Fri – Sat: 7am – 4am

7. Rahmath Cheese Prata

Hands up if you’re a cheese fan! At Rahmath Cheese Prata, I can indulge in some of the best cheese pratas in town. The pratas here have a wonderfully doughy and soft outer layer, making them a delight to chew. I love how generous they are with the cheese, too! The owner, Mr. Ali, has been in the business for over a decade, so I know I’m in good hands. Plus, the stall has received Makansutra’s five-chopsticks ‘Divine’ award, which speaks volumes. If this isn’t one of the best roti pratas in Singapore in 2024, I don’t know what is!

Address: 74 Lorong 4 Toa Payoh, #01-08, S(310074)
Opening Hours: Tue – Sun: 6am – 2.30pm

8. Casuarina Curry

While it might be unconventional to have prata as a late-night dessert, there are just those nights that I crave some extra carbs. When that craving hits, I head to Casuarina Curry. Established in 1992, it’s one of the best roti prata spots in Singapore, offering more than 40 varieties to satisfy every taste. The classic butter and ghee pratas are always a hit, but I can’t resist the banana chocolate prata—it’s the perfect combination of sweet and crisp. Plus, I can certainly make space in my stomach for their garlic butter naan and chicken murtabak, too!

Address: Multiple locations including Casuarina Road and MacPherson Road
Opening Hours:
Sun – Thurs: 7am – 11pm
Fri – Sat: 7am – 11.30pm

9. Sin Ming Roti Prata

(Credit: Tam Chiak / Flickr)

I personally feel that Sin Ming Roti Prata offers some of the best coin roti pratas in Singapore. Their traditional methods for making the dough—without ghee or milk—is giving authentic vibes! These crispy little pancakes are a total hit with both the young and old, and the options like cheese sausage, cashew, and chicken floss are just chef’s kiss. Furthermore, with everything priced under $5, I get to treat my family to a delicious meal without breaking the bank!

Address: 24 Sin Ming Road, #01-51, S(570024)
Opening Hours: Daily, 6.30am – 6pm

10. ENAQ The Prata Shop

When it comes to the best roti prata in Singapore, nothing quite rivals ENAQ The Prata Shop – this was my go-to spot for prata when I used to stay in hall! Their pratas are made with a special recipe that gives them an amazing crispiness. Plus, they have unique fillings like kaya, peanut butter, and even hotdog for that extra flair. Psst… for those who love a spicy kick, you can dip your prata in their special sambal chilli sauce too!

Address: 303 Jurong East Street 32, S(600303)
Opening Hours: Daily, 7am – 11pm

11. Thasevi Food Famous Jalan Kayu Prata Restaurant

Thasevi Food Famous Jalan Kayu Prata Restaurant is hands down one of the best roti prata spots in Singapore. The atmosphere is lively, and the smell of freshly made pratas wafts through the air, instantly making my mouth water. My only complaint is that the pratas here are a bit smaller than others. So, for those with big appetites, I’d definitely recommend ordering at least three pieces to feel satisfied!

Address: 237 Jalan Kayu, S(799462)
Opening Hours: 24 hours

12. Niqqi’s The Cheese Prata Shop

While NTU students had “Ah Lian Bee Hoon”, NUS students raved about “Niqqi’s The Cheese Prata Shop” as the best roti prata supper spot in Singapore. I’ve tried it myself, and I totally get why it’s so popular—just look at that cheese pull; it’s seriously IG-worthy! Each bite is a gooey delight, and the prata is also densely packed with potatoes and eggs. I love that the potatoes aren’t completely mashed, giving it a nice chunky texture that adds so much to each bite. This definitely makes the experience more satisfying and gives the prata a heartier feel!

Address: 16 Clementi Road, S(129745)
Opening Hours: 24 hours

13. New Shah Alam Restaurant

I don’t know about you, but after a wild night of clubbing, I often find myself wanting a quick bite before heading home. That’s when I’ll visit New Shah Alam Restaurant. I love their cheese prata paired with fish curry – it’s so creamy and savoury! If I’m extra hungry, I’ll also grab some onion, egg, or mushroom prata. They’re all packed with flavour and make for the perfect late-night snack to satisfy those cravings!

Address: 20-21 Circular Road, S(049376)
Opening Hours: 24 hours

14. Julaiha Muslim Restaurant

Team utensils or team hands? Most of the time when I’m out having prata, I prefer using a fork and spoon, but at Julaiha Muslim Restaurant, I always go hands-on. Their pratas are delightfully light, crispy, and easy to tear apart. But, the next time I visit, I’d love to try their Khutu prata— hearsay it’s similar to char kway teow, but instead of noodles, you get chopped-up pieces of prata dough stir-fried with eggs, onions, and vegetables. They also serve some of the best biryanis in Singapore, which I’ll also get during my next supper run!

Address: 538 MacPherson Road, S(368222)
Opening Hours: 24 hours

15. Prata Wala

(Credit: Prata Wala / Facebook)

I’ve heard of wholegrain bread, but the first time I came across wholegrain prata was at Prata Wala. With multiple outlets conveniently located in malls, it’s one of the best spots for roti prata in Singapore, especially when I want to enjoy a meal in a comfortable, air-conditioned setting. The wholegrain prata has a unique, nutty flavour and a satisfying texture that adds a healthy twist to the classic dish. Plus, the variety on their menu means I can always try something new each visit, making it a convenient hangout for me and my friends!

Address: Multiple locations including Chinatown Point and Jurong Point
Opening Hours: 9am – 9pm

16. Mr Prata

As their tagline says, “One Stop Many Taste,” and I couldn’t agree more—Prata Wala truly delivers with its extensive menu. It’s one of the best places for roti prata in Singapore, even for picky eaters, because they serve a diverse range of dishes that go beyond the traditional. You can find everything from classic roti prata to Western favourites and even Turkish cuisine, catering to all kinds of taste buds.

Address: Multiple locations including Bedok and Clementi
Opening Hours: 8.30am – 11pm

17. Thohirah Restaurant

Just like enjoying a McDonald’s value meal, Thohirah Restaurant offers some of the best crispy roti pratas in Singapore with their all-day Deluxe Set. This set is a fantastic deal, featuring one plain prata, one egg prata, a refreshing drink, and a hearty serving of chicken curry. What I really like is the drink selection; I’m not limited to just one option. I can choose the classic Teh Tarik, the creamy Teh Chino, or the zesty Teh Limau, making it easy to customise my breakfast to match my mood!

Address: 258 Jalan Kayu, S(799487)
Opening Hours: 24 Hours

18. Srisun Express

On the hunt for the best coin roti prata in Singapore in 2024? You definitely need to check out Srisun Express! I LOVE their adorable mini coin pratas, which comes in flavours like chicken, sardine, and mutton. They’ve also got a bunch of other fun varieties, like ice cream and paper pratas but I’d highly recommend their ‘Prata Bom’. It’s got this deliciously sweet middle that contrasts perfectly with the spicy curry they give you. And to top it all off, order a Milo tower to sip on while you enjoy your meal. Trust me, it’s the ultimate combo that makes for a purfect prata experience!

Address: Multiple locations including Bukit Batok and Serangoon Gardens
Opening Hours: 24 Hours

19. Tanglin Halt Roti Prata

When it comes to ordering mala, I usually go for a da la. If that spice vibe is up your alley, I definitely recommend heading to Tanglin Halt Roti Prata. They serve some of the best plain and egg pratas, and I love pairing them with their fiery chicken curry. Speaking of the chicken curry, it’s absolutely delicious! The chicken is so soft and tender, it feels like it’s been soaking in that flavorful curry forever. It’s perfectly marinated, and you can really taste the spices infused in the meat!

Address: 49 Tanglin Halt Road, #01-365, S(142049)
Opening Hours: Daily, 6.30am – 3pm

20. Chindamani Indian Restaurant

If you’re in your bulking phase and don’t mind a few extra calories from those greasy pratas, you’ve got to try the best roti prata in Singapore from Chinadammanni Indian Restaurant. They use oil to baste their pratas, which makes them extra crispy and indulgent. The slight greasiness adds to the flavour and texture, giving you that satisfying crunch with every bite. Just a heads up, though—it can get a bit jelak, so I’d recommend starting with just one before deciding to order another!

Address: Multiple locations including Serangoon and Bishan
Opening Hours: Daily, 6am – 9pm

21. Midas

Ever tried baked prata? I’m betting a lot of you haven’t! That’s what Midas, or Midas Every Touch is Gold, is all about. This prata spot really stands out with their Golden Baked Roti Prata, which I love because it’s a much healthier twist on your typical fried pratas. I usually get it in either plain or spring onion. But wait, there’s more! I’m also a huge fan of their Master Touch Chicken Curry—it’s a delicious Thai-Indian fusion that’s super fragrant and tangy. If you’re looking for one of the best roti prata places to check out in Singapore for 2024, Midas is definitely a must-try!

Address: Hong Lim Market & Food Centre, 531 Upper Cross Street, #02-07, S(050531)
