7 Fragrance Hacks You Wish The Smelly Commuter Should Know

Ever experienced the not-so-pleasant experience of having to hold your breath as you commute because of the one guy with really bad BO? Well, show that guy this article because he/she clearly needs to know how to make their fragrance last for a longer time!
Here are the 7 smart hacks you need to know:

1) Store your fragrance bottles in cool and dry spots if you want your fragrances to last longer.

Don’t store them in your bathroom or other damp, warm places. Humidity, heat and light will lessen the quality of the fragrance and break down your perfume. Store them in cool, dry spots away from windows instead.

2) Make the scent last longer by rubbing vaseline or any unscented lotion on your pulse points before spraying the perfume.

This will hold and help lock the fragrance to your skin much longer compared to spraying it onto dry skin.

3) Target pulse points and warm areas on your body when spraying your fragrance.

Warm areas will help diffuse the fragrance across your body (e.g. wrists, inside your elbows or on your neck). Spraying your ankles and calves will allow the scent to rise throughout the day as well. Choose a couple of target areas only.

4) Do NOT rub your wrists together after spraying.

This is because when you do, you’ll force the top notes (i.e. the first scent you smell after spraying the fragrance) to disappear faster than intended.

5) Walk into the mist.

For a lighter scent, spray the fragrance in the air and slowly walk into the mist. It will distribute evenly across your body and leave you a hint of fragrance if you don’t want the smell to be overwhelming.

6) Use cotton buds for touch-ups.

Spray perfume onto cotton buds and store them in ziplock bags inside your handbag for quick touch-ups throughout the day. It beats carrying an entire perfume bottle in your clutch.

7) Use makeup wipes to get rid of the scent.

If you’re out sampling perfumes and don’t like what you smell, use a makeup wipe to get rid of the scent.
